Because Carter, Salvo, Phenix and Porsha are some of the current 12 year old contestants on the show. I tried to choose the kids with the best names. Perfect for FM radio which loves a whacky name and ex-reality show contestant.
Huh… another change… So now HIT Dance is known as Dance Hits??
I listen daily using an Amazon Echo while I am working… I normally just say “Alexa Play Hit Dance” and it does…
Today saying “Alexa Play Hit Dance” gives back “Playing Dance Hits Adelaide on RadioApp” which is odd as it knows I am in Melbourne… Someone prob hasn’t coded something properly…
Saying “Play Hit Dance Melbourne” returns nothing…
LOL completely missed this (mostly because we don’t have Dance here, and I never listen to Buddha or Urban).
They have effectively gone back to their positioning from a couple of years ago. Good thing they never bothered to change the branding on air from Urban Hits or Buddha Hits to Hit Urban or Hit Buddha last year!
I actually tried to do some archaeology of SCA’s DAB+ stations, but I got completely lost.
As far as I can recall, one station went from Loveland, to More 80’s and 90’s, to Oldskool, then Oldskool Hits, then Hit Oldskool (except on air), now Oldskool 90’s Hits.
Another went from Stardust, to Easy, then Easy Hits Radio, then Hit Easy (again not on air), now Easy 80’s Hits.
Then there was Radar Radio, Choose the Hits Jelly, Barry, OMG (which became different stations in different markets, I think in Perth it went to MMM Modern Digital). Not to mention the popup stations back in the beginning.
While I certainly wouldn’t say “Believe” by Cher is the best song ever, I can definitely think of worse: Anything by Justin Bieber, One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer and other “bubblegum pop” artists particularly popular with tween/teenage girls over the past decade or so!
There are a lot worse songs than any of those bubble gum pop songs. Every song has its place in time. Cher’s Believe was great “at that time” but I wouldn’t want to keep hearing it today.
Fox and 2Day are really lost with their playlists. They need to find a better place yo be in.
I don’t think he’s currently suited to breakfast. I like his work, but it’s too edgy and crude for breakfast. Much better suited to nights at the moment. To change the content to suit breakfast would compromise who he is as a broadcaster right now.
I just had a look at the latest music logs for the Hit network, it appears 2day fm have dropped 80’s from their playlist.
Now they go back as far as the 90’s. Today’s playlist is now more similar to KIIS and Nova 96.9 before their recent playlist refresh.
The regional Hit stations are now skewing older then 2day fm with still quite a lot of 80’s in their playlists. With these changes to 2day there is now not a lot of difference between KIIS, 2day, and Nova in Sydney based on today’s music logs.
Is 2day going to skew slightly younger in 2021 for the launch of their new breakfast show???
