Hit Network

It’s on every ad break on Old School 90s hits over the past 2 weeks, maybe nobody’s listening to the podcast.

Sorry for the delay to reply, the voice is Phil Lentz. He is still around, I’ve included a few of his more recent voice-overs there’s no X107FM ones, but the first screaming jets voice-over is similar style to X107.

They still haven’t moved on from KJ leaving the station. Constantly trying to replace them and outdo them. And trying to show they don’t need KJ.

MOVE ON!! Go to very basics. Until then you will be at the very bottom.

Edit: Here’s further proof they haven’t moved on. This 2013 commercial featuring KJ and “That Feeling”.

They are trying to create “that feeling” in 2020 that got them to #1 back then. (Of course without KJ).

They won’t get ‘that feeling’ with tired easy listening music. For the first time ever I’ve stopped listening.

I’d hardly call their music easy listening. Bit of a stretch.

Ok, it’s horrid :stuck_out_tongue:

It looks like they have changed their digital radio stations again as of this morning

Now referred to as:
Buddha Hits
Dance Hits

Stupid name changing. Never should’ve changed from Fox (at least in Melbourne)

Imagine if a Buddha did hit you. :stuck_out_tongue: Think about it.

That’s not very Zen.

I’m not very Zen in anyway, yet I look like a Buddha. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a bit of a worry too when the Dance Hits Facebook page only has 150 likes and 165 followers. Not great social media engagement.

I just got a notification that the pages changed names, Hit Urban as well changed to Urban Hits

Surely that’s partly a sign that the ‘Dance’ of ‘Dance Hits’ is no where near the kind that might get people listening.

There’s a NovaNation sized gap for them to do it properly.

If only Raw FM could get on DAB in Sydney!

On the metro side of things, Blackley didn’t shy away from the chronically underperforming 2Day FM Sydney, revealing the station will have a new Breakfast show in 2021 after a “temporary” move to a music-driven format featuring Jamie Angel this year.

“The highest content priority in our radio network is to establish a new and successful Breakfast show on 2Day FM in Sydney,” he said.

Here we go yet again.

If SCA are smart, they’ll come up with a genuinely new and exciting breakfast show for 2DayFM which actually has the potential to grow and (yes, I’m going to say it) maybe even become Sydney’s #1 FM brekky show later this decade when the KIIS/Nova/WSFM/Smooth teams eventually decide to call it a day.

But given their appalling track record in recent years, I’m not holding my hopes for this to happen. Probably far more likely to happen is something uncreative such as “Jamie, Julia, Grant and Sophie” or going the cheap option by simulcasting the Hit Regional NSW brekky show on 104.1FM Sydney.

I’m predicting either of two ways…

Either Marty Sheargold will be involved and they’ll go down the comedy path.

Or it’ll be a zoo type show with whoever is available at Network 10. Maybe Dr. Chris Brown, Julia Morris, etc. and go for a more mature lighter laugh & lifestyle show.

Regardless, my guess is they’ll base it off what HIT107 has got. With a more mature sounding duo.

RT thinks it’ll be Jamie with Julia Morris. It won’t happen but Tim Blackwell Morning Show in the style of Ryan Seacrest with some sidekicks and celebrity interviews etc would be my go.

Another name change? Oh my.
