A few people might be able to correct me, but I believe TTFM was the #1 station in Melbourne in surveys 2 and 3 of 1995. The numbers I have…
| Rank | Station | Survey 2 | Survey 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | TTFM | 12.8 | 13.3 |
| 2 | 3AW | 12.4 | 12.2 |
| 3 | FOX FM | 11.7 | 11.5 |
| 4 | Gold 104 | 10.6 | 10.4 |
| 5 | Triple M Melbourne | 9.3 | 9.6 |
IMHO, TTFM remained relatively competitive up until it was replaced with Mix101.1 in mid-2001 as ARN prepared for the launch of Nova100.
As to the comment:
That’s a fair call about KIIS being more succesful than Mix. The replacing of Jase & Lauren with Kyle & Jackie O co-incides (or should that be correlates) with a drop in KIIS ratings back to Mix levels, creating some recency bias. It also should be noted that the low ratings of 2020 were COVID impacted with a reduction for most music stations in favour of talk stations.
The relevance of brand retired more than 20 years ago to its current target audience is probably low, but that is probably better suited as a discussion in the KIIS thread, rather than historic ratings!
