The Little Mermaid joke

Monday 12 June 8:40 pm

Ed Kavalee and Sam Pang are back and this time they’re joined by comedians Emma Holland, Tony Martin and Alex Ward on everyone’s favourite podium.

Each contender has their finger on the pulse and a hand on the buzzer when it comes to the week’s biggest news stories.

Quizmaster Tom Gleisner holds all the questions but it’s up to each contestant to battle it out for all the wrong answers. Be prepared to be a little bit informed, a whole lot entertained and perhaps slightly confused as this crew unpacks the headlines of the week.

Emma and Alex? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have a feeling their regular comedians are busy on other projects

What’s your problem now? Emma and Alex have been on a number of episodes. 10 and 11 episodes. They are regulars.

Theyre too similar to each other and not seasoned pros

There’s nothing wrong with mixing up the combinations. You never know what you might get. Might end up being a great new combo.

It’s only just dawned on me that Alex Ward is comedian Felicity Ward’s sister. I was reminded of her because she just got the lead role of The Office Australia remake.

And come to think of it Emma Holland, though its hard to find out anything about her, she strikes a resemblance to Jane Kennedy. Prob niece or something?

Is Alex her sister? Or do they just share the same surname?
Is Emma related to Jane?

Or maybe they are both comedians liked by Working Dog that are talented and bring something to the show. Do we all make these connections to the younger male comedians such as Tim McDonald when he started?

Pretty sure Tim is related to Ronald

I feel like nepotism should be called out in the industry or nothing will change. At least people should be aware

You okay?

Bit rich to claim nepotism when the source of it is your conspiracies that somehow everyone in your eyes are related to each other.

Well, they’re both clowns with silly hair.

Nepotism exists everywhere. Bit hard to get rid of.

Furphy! Are you sure you didn’t just receive a blow to the head? Felicity grew up in Killcare NSW and Alex grew up in Queensland.

They both are brunettes. Must be related.

@Drew Did you know Jim Morrison of Doors fame was Scott Morrison’s American uncle? Well they must be related, they’re both Morrisons. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Very hard show to watch tonight. I wouldn’t be so concerned about next weeks show tbh.

They have a bunch of regulars who are just unfunny. Lizzie and Luke tonight.
I remember one show last year where they had Kate Langbroek on it, was hilarious. Wish we saw more of her.

Some other names I enjoy: Marty Sheergold, Aaron Chen, Ray O’Leary.

I agree.

I’ve never been a fan of Luke McGregor and his appearances on the show are always a real turn-off. His ‘awkward, giggly’ schtick is annoying.

I have nothing against Lizzie as a person, but she’s simply not a great comedian and I feel like she’s one of the worst regulars on the show. Her jokes never land.

Yes he’s very awkward. I’m no fan of him.

My favourite moments tonight:

  1. Sam saying they should have an orgie party on the set

  2. Luke saying that Bruce McAvaney is making a porn comeback
