Listening to Gold 104.3 via streaming right now and they’ve just played the 12 inch version of Cliff Richard and The Young Ones “Living Doll” (though the cut out some of the intro ).,… so they only really played about 10 inches, but better than 7 inches .
Michael Jackson, "Man in the Mirror "
Bros "When will I Be Famous "
River 94.9 yesterday, shame about the crap reception I have on my radio at work sometimes, on this station
Kiss,“Shout it Out Loud”,Triple M today
Funny you should say that. That song just aired on Now FM Moree, Love Songs at Night (and the rest of the Caralis FM network) right as I read this post.
“Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear” on Oldies FM today. Haven’t heard that song in decades. That station throws up some interesting lost gems every time I’m in the broadcast area. Heard “Come Monday”, also. When was the last time you heard a Jimmy Buffet song on the radio?
As part of their regular Sunday Morning 60s, this morning 4KQ play a song Sneaky vs Red Knight. The story was that the song Snoopy vs The Red Baron had a number of copyright issues and that in Canada “snoopy” was not able to be used at all so the Royal Guarsdmen has to record a special version and that’s what they played this morning. There are often a few interesting pieces of history that the show brings up and some very rare versions of songs are sometimes heard. Discussed this morning were the number of Australian hits that had The Johnny Young Singers as backing.
Funnily enough, I remember that being played quite often on the old Kiss FM (95.3) around the time it started. Always reminds me of Sunny Corner, ha. It’s a good tune.
Well, it’s taken a while during their “Egg-cellent 80s” Easter long weekend, but WSFM have finally played a great 80s song that I haven’t heard them play before
