2MMM, via perusal of RadioApp, has yielded the following surprises over the last couple of days;

No Say In It- MACHINATIONS
Wide Open Road- THE TRIFFIDS :+1:
Don’t Go Now- RATCAT :+1::+1:

The Ms might be worth a bit of my in-car listening time, provided they don’t have bogan comedy or bogan football commentary of course.

Yes if only they stuck to the music they might get some traction. I for one just don’t like the hybrid music, talk, sport and “comedy” format. I like to know what I’m getting when I switch on the radio in the car.

Three good songs there. The Triffids song is a classic.

Yes, Yes and Yes!

Across the ditch - from Roy FM Wanaka, New Zealand via iHeartRadio:

FRANZ FERDINAND - No You Girls, followed shortly after by ART VS. SCIENCE - Magic Fountain

I.O.U. / Freeze right now on Absolute Radio 80s (UK) from 1983.

That’s the song of the week for me so far :slight_smile:

I first heard it on Hauraki

‘Break my stride’

I was singing it at work today and I was amazed at how many people kinda joined in and knew the words

Even some Gen Ys knew the song

Funny
 cos I very rarely ever hear any version on the radio these days

Speaking of versions
 wow
 if a song was big in the 1980s
 the host of the show would even sing it

The Unique II cover was a massive song back in the mid-90s, I remember it well despite being only in single figures age-wise around then. You’re right though that it’s seldom heard in any version on radio these days, nor has it been for years

Through the Barricades / Spandau Ballet now on Absolute Radio 80s. Probably only ever hear this song on a UK station.

How do you listen to Absolute Radio 80s?

Yeah I must admit NZ tended to stick with the Spandau beyond Parade.

I remember ‘Fight for ourselves’ on 3ZM and ‘How many lies’

Through the barricades was really popular in CHCH and I remember it being a #1 on the hot nine at nine
 it sounded a bit too ‘Round and Round’, though I do remember seeing the vid on RTR.

I absolutely love Through The Barricades. My personal favourite song of theirs.
