Some decent less flogged material in that lot. A few of them are 2XL specials like Dragon- Sunshine and Fly Too High.

Persuasion / Tim Finn on (who else) but Breeze. Gee, I haven’t heard that one for so long. I’m not the world’s biggest Tim Finn/Crowded House fan actually, but this one is awesome.

That song is part of my 1993 soundtrack. Freshman year of high school and music was a huge part of it

One I had to share, not because the song is that remarkable necessarily, but because of where I was when it came on

So did your Dreamworld just end, or did it fall?

You’ve reached MediaSpy elite status when you pull over just to capture a radio nerd moment such as this. Well done.

(As an aside, where do you switch between 99.4 and 90.5? Yatala)?

You might have to go to the Breakky Creek Hotel in celebration, assuming it’s not up for sale of course.

In fairness to me, I had reason to be stopping in said location anyway (I was looking at some new roadworks at that intersection) but the timing was superb.

And no, no point switching to 99.4 until about Pimpama. 99.4 is quite weak anywhere north of about Exit 49, and 90.5 is not too bad through Ormeau/Yatala. By Coomera though it’s all 99.4.

Silent Running - Mike & The Mechanics

Heard this morning on 2NUR FM whilst out in the car.

Good to hear that one, ‘All I Need Is A Miracle’ is the only song of theirs radio normally ever plays.

Both songs take me back instantly to FM104. They both were FM104 classics. They used to play Silent Running in particular all the time. Sounded so good on FM back in those days.

Believe it or not, I have never travelled between Brissy and the GC on the Great Parking Lot (M1), so I’ve got no idea how the Rebels and Breezes go along there. I’ve never been on the bits between the Gateway Motorway and Movie World. I really need to go up to the GC Hinterland one of these days. With winter seemingly AWOL everywhere, I may as well.

It’s nice when your work and your hobby dovetail like that, isn’t it?

Words / Sharon O’Neill right now on Breeze. My favourite of hers. I don’t understand why she is largely ignored by Australian radio, she was pretty big back in the day.
