Great songs heard on radio

I heard Common People by Pulp on INDIE & ALT last night. Good song.

Someone’s Singing New York New York - Ghostwriters

Just played on Triple M Nights With Dave Gleeson.

Part of a Classic 9 At 9 “Drummers Who Can Sing”, with the recently departed Rob Hirst from the Oils providing the vocals for that classic.

Love that song, criminally underplayed on radio.

Heard a few rarer tracks on the Triple M regional ‘Awesome 80s’ Friday this morning

Paper In Fire - John Cougar Mellencamp

Somebody - Bryan Adams

Left Of Center - Suzanne Vega

Satisified - Richard Marx

And I just saw on Lava, they played just before midday Scandal feat. Patty Smyth’s ‘The Warrior’… one of my fav 80s songs!

All great ones. One of my favourite Bryan Adams’ songs

I heard Tavares - Whodunit on KOOOL (online station but used to be on DAB in Melbourne under PSN ownership). A great song.

Good to see Power FSC still plays that! It used to 15 years ago. A Nova 969 classic.

Heard in my shopping centre late this afternoon

Opinions Won’t Keep You Warm At Night - Kisschasy

Triple M used to flog this back when it was released, hardly hear it anywhere now.

Kisschasy put out some great power pop (some might call it emo pop, but really it’s power pop). I particularly like ‘Spray On Pants’ but that one is great too.

I even like their ballad ‘The Shake’ which I will play in the yacht rock/coastal classics Missing Sixes.

Woolworths Radio must be programmed by music buffs.

The Police - “Wrapped Around Your Finger”
The Sports - “Who Listens To The Radio”

Heard both of them this morning.

It’s programmed by ARN. Similar to Coles radio (programmed by Nova), and they both sometimes play some good songs but Coles is so dominant nowadays in the DAB ratings, it can sound too safe from my observations when I’ve listened to it.

There’s 2 versions of this song,I prefer the original from 1978.
By the Way,who does listen to the radio anymore? Not me apart from occasional listening to DAB only stations.

Me. But then I don’t usually listen to the one station for very long. I’m sure the tuning dials on my radios hate me.

Same, I always switch stations in between songs, trying to find one I like in the car every now and then.

Speaking of in store radio, another great one from Bungendore IGA today:

Robert Plant- 29 Palms

Appropriate song for this dry climate (though we copped a good storm yesterday).

AFAIK there are no IGA radio streams available to the public. I’d actually listen to the Bungendore stream as they play some out of the box stuff that’s more at home on my show.

I stream Breeze and Rebel all day long at home . And listen to them on FM in the car, along with some DAB stations.
