No that wasn’t me- had another commitment this afternoon unfortunately that was last minute. I am not sure where that playlist came from but will get back to you.
I was going to do a Halloween themed show. BTW- are you getting the FM signal? Easterly pushed into Braidwood around 1530.

Some good ‘Living’ songs on the 20/20 Retro Countdown tonight.
Live For Loving You – Gloria Estefan
Live Your Life Be Free – Belinda Carlisle
Living In A Dream – Pseudo Echo
Live To Tell – Madonna
Living Doll – Cliff Richard & The Young Ones
Living Next Door To Alice - Smokie
And Number 1 was NOT Mental As Anything or Bon Jovi (the predictable ones, though they were played during the countdown), it was Smokie
Heard on Hit 104.7 today. For some reason, I would hear this and “Wake Me Up When September Ends” constantly on that station during the mid-2010s, and I never heard them play any of the other American Idiot singles.
Whitney Houston (RIP)’One Moment in Time’ on The Breeze yesterday.one of her rarely played songs, also a favourite song of wannabe contestants for reality singing TV shows .
Journey, “Wheel in the Sky “ on Monday
The Johnny Otis Show,’Willie and the Hand Jive”also last Monday
This is just a few songs you won’t hear on other radio stations
Love the song “Substitute” and haven’t heard it on radio for over 40 years. There were two versions of this song which charted around the same time in 1978, one by Australian female band Peaches and the other by South African female band Clout. The Peaches version was more successful in NSW whereas the Clout version was more successful in other Australian states. Disco legend Gloria Gaynor also recorded the song which was featured as a B side on international releases of “I Will Survive”.
For a second night this week, it was Phil Collins and NSYNC back-to-back on smoothfm:
7:14pm: “Easy Lover” by Philip Bailey/Phil Collins
7:19pm: “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC
Also on smoothfm tonight…
8:37pm: “Missing” by Everything but the Girl
The announcer on Breeze this morning is a fill in guy who normally does their ads and promos. He seems very into the music which is great to listen to.
Absolutely love that song from one of my favourite Aussie bands.
Also last week on the Breeze I heard Don’t Believe Anymore. One of my favs from Icehouse.
On Triple M Sydney, Melbourne and Regionals right now is Dire Straits’ “Brothers in Arms” from the 1985 album of the same name which was played after the Last Post and the Minutes silence to commemorate Remembrance Day. One of the most emotional songs from such a great band and a fantastic album of the eighties decade. Appeared in the final scene of the Cold War series, The Americans as well.
