Not heard on radio today but in the shopping centre. Not counting the times I played it on the radio about 15 years ago, I haven’t heard this on radio since late 1993. A great, long forgotten tune. https://youtu.be/Enmgh8y8AKk?si=wpeAuoPanhDPJHw4

What a song that was!!! I remember it very well. Great song!

A song to play when you’re having an attack of hayfever.

“Sneeze, I’ve got that sneeze.”

7 Seconds by Youssou N’Dour and Neneh Cherry (GHR this morning). Haven’t heard for a while.

Love that song!

It’s the only song I know that uses three different languages in it (French, English and the West African language of Wolof, as Youssou is from Senegal).

The music video for this song would be Freddie’s last appearance on camera.

An example of a song that would never chart now

Heard bits of the Kasey Casem Top 40 on 2NUR today (from this week in 1987).

Got to hear these rare gems

La Bamba - Los Lobos
When Smokey Sings - ABC
Something Real - Mr Mister
(was only a minor hit here, I haven’t heard that on the radio since… well 1987!)
You’re Only Human - Billy Joel (a Long Distance Dedication)
It’s A Sin - Pet Shop Boys
Breakout - Swing Out Sister
I Heard A Rumour - Bananarama
Causing A Commotion - Madonna

‘Second Chance’ (1989) by 38 Special, this morning on The Breeze of course. No other station would play this song today

I’ve heard some of .38 Special’s other stuff on Rebel, too (that track is probably the only one suitable for Breeze). Most of their stuff is Southern Rock/AOR and sounds great on the radio. Naturally they are a Conga Line staple.

Heard “Marvellous” by the 12th Man on Triple M’s OZTober GOAT Top 100 Countdown an hour ago. A seldom played song these days but topped the Aria charts in 1992!
