And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon

“There is no dark side in the moon really
Matter of fact, it’s all dark”

This song also belongs on the “Did they really just play that?” Thread due to my opinion being a bit too soft for the Triple M branding but recently heard the 1978 classic from Genesis, “Follow You, Follow Me” on the recently launched Triple M 70s DAB station on LiSTNR which was their first Top 10 chart hit during the Phil Collins era after seven years of going progressive rock during the Peter Gabriel and early Collins era. Still a classic of mine.

Their first album following the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett.

Heard this one on Rebel after 9 this morning, a song I don’t reckon I’ve heard much (if at all) since it was released:

This is just one example of why Rebel is just SO good!

Back in London now, heard this afternoon on XFM 104.9

Hate To Say I Told You So - The Hives

This is the kind of forgotten rock classic I should be hearing on a certain other 104.9 in and around Sydney that claims to play “great” songs.

I agree.

I feel like for the most part stations like Triple M just dumb down the music to the point it’s not really tolerable. They underestimate the audience, whereas UK stations don’t do this as much.

A few songs travelling around during the past few days.

Dee C Lee - See The Day and
Red Rider - Lunatic Fringe on Vintage FM - I forgot this song existed. Lead singer was Tom Cochrane (Life Is A Highway)

…and on 2RE
Smashing Pumpkins - 1979
Def Leppard - Rocket
(It’s just the novelty of hearing these on a heritage station that got me, although these would be regulars on Triple M)
Thompson Twins - Don’t Mess With Dr Dream
The Corrs - Breathless
(Nice to hear something different from these artists)

Wow, that’s truly out of the box for an Australian station. I’ve played it maybe once or twice, great track.

2RE is a great listen during their local programming. I only wish they’d stream (calling the Caralis heirs).
