I probably sound like a broken record, but how good is the Rebel.
I’ve been working in Biloela over the past month and had my ears glued to the Rebel. I absolutely love the music that Davo spins in the afternoon.
Rebel FM just played a double shot from this legend.
Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash
Rusty Cage - Johnny Cash
Rebel FM never disappoints
There is an excellent community radio show on Friday nights 7pm-8pm on Pulse FM Geelong that plays 80s music and focuses on compilation albums from that period. Tonight’s show is “1983 The Big Ones” and some of the songs heard are Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs, It’s a Mistake by Men at Work and Rock and Roll is King by ELO.
I’m a man by Chicago on Rebel 99.4… What a great song!
Going Home / Mark Knopfler now on the Breeze.
I heard it too. I had it on in the car.
That was the closing song at my grandfather’s funeral 22 years ago.
Just played on Rebel FM
Fleetwood Mac - Dust My Broom, followed by
Peter Green’s - Need Your Love So Bad
Double Shot Tuesday on the Rebel today.
Heard these 80s classics this afternoon on 2MCR Campbelltown 100.3 back to back (on the way back from Canberra).
Looking For A New Love - Jody Watley
White Horse - Laid Back
Heard some “live and local” music on 2RE 88.9 this morning on the way back to Newcastle. Some good choices that other stations don’t usually play
Hope - David Campbell
Respect Yourself - Kane Gang
Gloucester would be close to the best radio spot in NSW if Rebel 93.7 made it to air. They have Breeze on 97.7 and also 2RE on 100.1/88.9. If you include the Barrington Tops (Polblue), you can also have snow with that good radio diet
As an aside, has anyone done a bandscan from the top of The Tops? Polblue camping ground would be the highest, most accessible spot.
Rare Aussie new wave tune heard on 2BBB this afternoon before the Mechie Show. Beargarden - Drink Drink Drink
I guess you could say this particular presenter likes The Finer Things in life.
Liking Hot Tomato Gold
I’ll Find My Way Home Jon & Vangelis that I hadn’t heard for a while.
Rebel FM this arvo:
- the Hard Ons & Henry Rollins - Let There Be Rock
- Violent Femmes - Kiss Off (a Violent Femmes song that ISN’T Blister in the Sun)
another great song on the Rebel: Pollyanna - Lemonsuck, a great band from the mid-90s (those who follow the Sound As Ever (Australian Indie 90-99) fb group will remember them).
Being here in the North West of NSW is a refreshing change with community radio and Super Radio Network being more adventurous in music selections than other stations back home. Heard these yesterday / today.
Ordinary Angels - Frente (on 92.9 Tamworth)
Mr Big - Icehouse (on 88.9fm Tamworth)
You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon (on 2WEB Bourke 585am)
Star Trekkin - The Firm (on 2TM Tamworth)
How Will I Know - Whitney Houston (also on 2TM)
Dogs Are Talking - The Angels (on NOW FM Moree)
Halfway Gone - Lifehouse (on NOW FM)
More good songs today from Moree to Warwick and then Stanthorpe
Miss This Tonight - Matt Moffitt (on NOW FM 88.7 Goondiwindi)
Your Wildest Dreams - Moody Blues (on Breeze 98.7 Goondiwindi).
Satisfied- Richard Marx (on TEN FM 98.7 Stanthorpe
There are others - I’ve forgotten what!
Heard on Breeze tonight… haven’t heard this in ages!
Caravan Of Love - The Housemartins
Love that song, takes me back in 1987 instantly!
