Great songs heard on radio

Couldn’t agree more re that Crash Test Dummies song, far better than their bigger hit. Makes me very nostalgic for that era of 90s alternative rock

Maybe because there are some home truths in the song. You’ll want to wear pyjamas in the daytime, but don’t want the disappearing hairline. And T.S Eliot may not be to your taste.

The Cruel Sea, “Better get a Lawyer” Triple M.I’m sure they had another minor hit but I can’t remember what it was called

“Delivery Man” and “This Is Not The Way Home” were other minor hits for them.

Black Stick was another of their hits.

My heart is a muscle and it pumps blood
Like a big old black steam train
My veins are the tracks
And the city is my brain

Body Talk the 2nd single from Koo De Tah from 1985 heard on Kiss FM Dance Music Australia in Melbourne. Underplayed song and artist. 12-inch mix as well.

Another Moody Blues classic over the last couple of days on 4KQ - The Story In Your Eyes. Nice to hear KQ and Breeze giving something other than Nights In White Satin a run :+1:

Shimmer / Shawn Mullins this afternoon on 99.7 Bridge FM. In my opinion a better song than Lullaby, his more well known hit. Although I do like that one as well.

Face to Face - Real Life (1985) on Kiss FM Dance Music Australia in Melbourne. 12-inch mix.
We’ve Got a Love Thang - CC Peniston (1992) on IGA in-store radio at Newport IGA last night when I was there. Takes me back to the days of American Top 40 on Fox FM and Video Hits on Channel 10 playing lots of rnb artists whom today are the staples of “rnb Fridays” on the Hit Network.

Nor could I until it was played at a friends funeral. Have a soft spot for it now.

I still like it too.
And “Slide”…

I don’t hear either song on the radio very often.
But if I did, I’d probably like them less.
Whilst they are good songs, I think there are better ones around.

I- perhaps unfairly- call them the ‘Goo Goo Dulls’. Perfectly adequate songs but they don’t excite me much. Would still rather listen to their hits than any of today’s charters, though.

The Goo Goo Dolls 1996 hit “Name” is my favourite of theirs, and one you rarely hear these days.

‘Name’ is seemingly not a tired song on a tired radio…

‘Here Is Gone’ is another one you don’t hear nowadays. A decent song.

Well, this is one I had forgotten about!

Man With A Gun - Jerry Harrison And The Casual Gods (1988)

Now Playing at the end of “Rock Song Dedications” On Triple M.

Don’t even hear “Rev It Up” much on the radio these days either.

‘Man With A Gun’ is a great 80s gem. Only heard on stations where the normal rules for playlists do not apply…,
