Great songs heard on radio

Finished at #9 on the Hottest 100 of 1995. Didn’t think the TISM train was particularly big north of the Barassi line (or should that be the Hitler-Barassi line?)

Music transcends footy codes!
Except maybe a song like “Up There Cazaly”.
Even I dont really know who he was.

Weak in the Presence of Beauty - Alison Moyet from 1987 on Magic 1278 Melbourne this morning. This was a cover, the original was recorded by UK band Floy Joy in 1986.

Unashamedly belted that out in the car today, love that tune

Did you surrender all your dreams to hear that song? (It came true in the end!)

That’s a great song. I clearly remember hearing it in 1987 on FM104.

Looking For A New Love - Jody Watley (1987)

Heard a little while ago on 2MCR 100.3 Campelltown.

It’s one of those rarely played gems that often makes me wonder why it wasn’t a massive hit here in Australia. Its up there with anything Whitney Houston ever released (in my books).

It’s not often a song played on HIT gets a mention from me here… Heard this nearly forgotten gem from the late 90s on 102.3 Port Macquarie whilst driving around Newcastle today thanks to a bit of tropo

Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me For Me) - Blessid Union Of Souls

Roll With It - Oasis.

Just played on Triple M. Probably the best part of my day!

Still prefer the Steve Winwood tune by the same name.

Another unlikely source of a great song… this from the “Super Radio Network” this afternoon during “Straight Talk” with Poppy (which may I add seems to be playing more music than they used to, do not quite straight talk anymore)… Anyhow…

Method Of Modern Love - Hall & Oates.

I haven’t heard that on the radio for years! I was in the car when it came on, at first on 2HD and I switched across to 1269 and pretended for another 4 minutes that it was “Rock Of The 80s” again

Should have been a bigger hit. My favourite song from H&O is ‘Did It In A Minute’ which was a hit in the US but not here. They sure knew how to have hits.

I heard this gem on B Rock this morning
Let Me Go - 3 Doors Down

I don’t reckon I’ve heard that since I was a teen listening to K-Rock in the early 2000s

Of course, I’ve copped enough Kryptonite to kill Superman 1000 times over in that time, but not much else from the neighbour’s neighbour’s neighbour

"Afternoons and Coffee Spoons’ by the Crash Test Dummys on Triple M today.Their follow up to "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm"from 1994,I liked this one better .doesn’t get played very often. Mick Jagger ,"Just another Night’ his solo hit from 1985

Love your taste Karen Cee. Afternoons and Coffee Spoons is SO much better than the Mmm song. Just Another Night is an absolute corker. I had it on a compilation album at the time and almost wore the grooves out.
