So it was just a normal episode of Gogglebox last night with other shows also reviewed.
Up to the first break the reviews were about the royal interview, and three follow up programs. Then it was back to normal.
This weekâs show is bloody brilliant even if MAFS got another run. More topical and off beat programming was reviewed. Makes a big difference when it isnât the same thing week after week. Will have to rewatch it, however. Emily Silberyâs âyouâd chokeâ comment had me doubled over in a fit of laughter during the last review.
Hopefully they review Fisk next week.
Hollyâs comment to her dad that he wouldnât be eligible was also hilarious.
The MAFS segment help reinforce why I donât watch the show.
Some reactions to the Full Monty reviews
Filming for Gogglebox varies from week to week, with the trio never told in advance what they will be wtching.
âIt just depends on whatâs in season, I think. Sometimes they throw in a movie which I struggle with, because I naturally fall asleep when I watch TV.
âBelieve it or not, I donât really watch TV at allâ
âBelieve it or not, I donât really watch TV at all. Outside of Gogglebox , I probably wouldnât watch five minutes of TV unless itâs the footy or a boxing match.
Iâll try and start a Netflix or Stan series, but then I end up snacking too much. I always end up just smashing the popcorn or chips. Iâve gotta stop something!â
The final episode of MAFS made it to tonightâs season 11 finale, as well as the first episode of MasterChef and Lego Masters of the season.
I wish the season extends by one week so we can see Goggleboxersâ reactions to the result of Dancing with the Stars: All Stars grand final.
âŚand in other news the sky is blue, grass is green and water is wet.
I noted that they didnât have Prince Philipâs funeral.
and people say this country isnt racsict or homeophobic. there dead wrong
I guess people will know the celebs but can it do as well as the normal Gogglebox or dilute the brand⌠Iâd rather they have more eps of the traditional one.
The Celeb version works reasonably well in the UK - the US one was a shambles.
Given that the regular version of Gogglebox has been a bit flat (save for a few stand-out reviews) over the past few seasons, I reckon the celebrity version is gonna be the beginning of the endâŚespecially since we know that ex-reality stars and social media influencers are likely to be part of this.
Says who?
Well, me. Although Iâd be very surprised if there werenât others out there who agree that Gogglebox Australia has lost its spark in recent years.
Celeb Gogglebox UK seems to do fine along with their regular seasons. Not sure why the local celeb version wouldnât work either.
As long as itâs not produced like the dreadful American version then we should be fine.
They could get Angie and Yvie back now.
We need some real bitchy people who donât care what they say. The Uk version has reality stars, singers, soapie actors etcâŚ
Maybe Em Rusciano, Christian Hull, Jimmy Rees. The Corby sisters.
I always said they should try and poach the Fren family from Travel Guides as they wont be traveling any time soon.
Nobody should return. Ever.
