managed to get a PS5 for delivery this year thanks to vodafone
just be aware if your thinking of this: Customers with two or more eligible services can purchase a new PS5 console on an interest free plan over 12, 24 or 36 months through Vodafone’s Customer Care channel from 12 November.
Both gaming devices retail for $750, but on Gumtree an Xbox Series X is listed for $1,999, and a PS5 for sale for $2,000.
On eBay, one seller started bids on a PS5 console for $5,000.
I guess this is what happens when things are very high in demand…
What didn’t help the scalping was several retailers (EB & JB) adamantly tell customers that there was definitely no more stock available until 2021, only for more stock to be available for order on release day this week…
I snagged one on Amazon on release morning, coming in a month but don’t need it any time soon so can’t complain. 
Scalping is ridiculous, but at the same time it wouldn’t be happening if people weren’t buying at those prices.
JB haven’t really covered themselves in glory with their pre-orders - like, initially telling people that they couldn’t use gift cards to pay for their consoles.
I can understand their frustration around stock levels though - they allocated the stock they were provided with and were told that there would be no more until next year - I suspect that its a reality of the current circumstance where getting stock to Australia seems to be the issue
Glad I decided to wait until next year to get my Xbox Series X. Not taking a chance with this high demand. 
A special Community Relief edition of Monopoly game and 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle were released yesterday, featuring 22 regional towns across Australia which had faced hardship like bushfires and COVID-19 this year. $5 from every purchase of Monopoly game and $2 from every purchase of the puzzle will be donated to Australian Red Cross.

i brought a physical copy on launch day from JB Hi-Fi and no issues getting a refund in store. on my ps4 it crashed more than michael schumacher, and on my ps5 was only marginally better. if it improves i’ll buy it again next year

Indigenous activist Stephen Hagan has lodged a complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission against the makers of Scrabble for including racial slurs against Aboriginal people in the game. Hagan is calling for the words, and any words that may be offensive to other ethnic groups, to be removed from the Scrabble dictionary. He also wants a formal apology from Mattel, and $150,000 in compensation for hurt and humiliation caused.

this govt is so out of touch it is not funny. just for the record, I know a lot of people through my bf who play GTA and they would never ever act out what is played in that game. this govt is dumb and needs a reality check fast

Speaking of Doom, I’ve been going back and playing the original Doom and Doom II from the 90s. It’s a game I wasn’t allowed to play when I was a kid, but the replay-ability of the original games still holds up to this day.
Same with the two modern games - Doom Eternal and Doom 2016. They are such a refreshing FPS experience when all the others seem similar these days.
