Because - yep, I called it - that’s what’s happening.
I just did a double-check and found that Fox is taking NBC but with Sky’s graphics overlaid (NBC’s outright coverage uses a lot of serif in graphics). Here’s a visual comparison (sorry for all 3 feeds in SD):
In addition, without knowing who’s who, I could hear a mix of male and female voices on NBC and the Fox feed. Sky feed is all male voices (minutes ago they did an AR explainer on the entire course, which Fox didn’t pick up, so that gives it away).
An oversimplified summary of the weekend on Fox Sports, because it’s one of those rare instances that in all four nights, there will be one point where all channels will be live at the same time.
Start and end times are inclusive of pre- and post-event.

Fox Sports 505 will show the basketball friendly between the Australian Boomers and University of Colorado Buffaloes from the Gold Coast on Thursday evening (July 31).
I wish Fox Sports and Sky News would show some love to the neglected Fox Sports News, used to always love Bill and Boz. Wouldn’t take much to make it good again.
Disappointingly they look to have retained the F1 rights from 2027 paying $60m a season beating out Stan. F1 really needed to look elsewhere for the growth given foxtel is a dying platform and just relaying the increasingly biased Sky sports coverage.
For whatever perceived bias. I would think the majority of Australians would much rather listen to the Sky feed of Crofty and Brundle over the inhouse F1 team.
Hopefully they give us a choice on this next deal. There are numerous additional feeds already on Kayo when a race is on.
That’s a bit disappointing, was hoping that Stan might scoop the rights so that we might get an alternative to the Sky Sports coverage which has declined massively in quality and is routinely biased against our Aussie driver. There was also the potential for a handful of extra races on FTA which would have been good too.
One thing Stan does well is with providing alternative coverage feeds (such as during the Lions tour, the Olympics and with the EPL pre and post game now), and I could foresee that they could have done the same with F1 as well.
Really wish that Kayo would at least offer the F1TV commentary even just as an alternative feed, I won’t hold my breath though.
I have access to both. the pre and post race coverage on sky is better than F1tv, but F1TV’s race commentary is less biased and more tailored to a world audiance.
F1TV pre and post race from what I’ve seen is OK but nothing special. Sky can be really good or utterly terrible depending on the weekend and who they have presenting (Nico Rosberg is great for instance, much better than say Danica Patrick or Jacques Villeneuve).
Sorry, but Sky F1 has to be better than that. They’re ostensibly a world feed. If you want to be partisan, do local breakouts or give up overseas responsibilities for which they are presumably well compensated.
