The Australian reports Daily Mail Australia editor-in-chief Luke McIlveen is leaving the website to return to News Corp, where he will take up the new role of executive editor at Fox Sports, with a dual broadcast and digital remit across online, live sport and magazine programs, such as NRL 360.

beIN SPORTS CONNECT app

Popular sports app joins Fox Sports app and WatchESPN app as part of a Foxtel sports subscription at no extra charge*

Foxtel today announced that Foxtel subscribers, whose subscription includes the Sports pack, now have access to sports programming via the beIN SPORTS CONNECT app, as part of their existing subscription, at no extra cost.

Today’s news means that Foxtel subscribers have another way to keep up with all of the live sporting action and sports commentary from beIN SPORTS’ popular magazine shows on smartphones, tablets, PC and Mac. The app’s arrival for Foxtel subscribers comes just as the European Football season kicks off with LaLiga, Serie A and Bundesliga starting this weekend. Plus, from this weekend beIN SPORTS will broadcast the Turkish Super Lig in Australia with live coverage of Kasimpasa vs. Besiktas, Osmanlispor vs. Galatsaray and Fenerbahce vs. Trabzonspor, all available live via beIN SPORTS CONNECT.

The beIN SPORTS CONNECT app offers linear streams of beIN SPORTS 1, beIN SPORTS 2 & beIN SPORTS 3 channels, plus access to additional games not available on the beIN SPORTS channels including every game of the UEFA Champions League, every LaLiga game, every UEFA Europa League game, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Leah O’Gorman, Foxtel’s General Manager, Sport Partnerships, said, “Sport fans are becoming increasingly mobile and take their love of the game with them to enjoy wherever and whenever they want. The addition of beIN SPORTS CONNECT to our existing sports app line up, including the Fox Sports app and WatchESPN, maximises the value of a Foxtel sports subscription and keeps fans in the game regardless of whether they’re in the living room, on vacation, or taking a sneaky look during their lunchbreak.”

beIN SPORTS CONNECT complements Foxtel’s three beIN SPORTS channels and brings subscribers 24/7 access to live streaming of the beIN SPORTS TV channels, plus more catch up games and highlights shows. Subscribers can download it from the Apple app store or Google Play or access online via Home - beIN SPORTS CONNECT.

WatchESPN streams the best of international sport on your tablet, smartphone or PC offering access to a range of live international sports, online only events and matches simulcast with ESPN television including NFL, NBA, MLB ESPN Films and more.

The FOX SPORTS app features news, fast scores, live match stats and more, including additional camera feeds of Supercars, Formula 1™ and MotoGP events; NRL, Super Rugby and A-League matches on demand, plus popular magazine shows including AFL 360, Back Page and others.

*Subscribers must be an existing Foxtel Sports customer to access content from beIN SPORTS Connect, the FOX SPORTS app and WatchESPN. Existing subscription fees apply. Requires compatible smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac. Internet connection required. ISP and data charges apply.

On the FOX Footy Channel right now, there is a very lengthy promo (featuring the song “Here” by Briggs) for the FOX League Channel.

Didn’t expect to be seeing that.

Fox Sports has just secured the broadcast rights to Australia’s cricket tour of Bangladesh which starts this week. The Sunday Telegraph reports the recent pay dispute between CA and Australian Cricketers’ Association played a major role in pushing negotiations down to the wire, but a deal was finally signed last week.

Any word on whether they’ll be hosting coverage from Fox Sports studios in Aus, like they did with the India series earlier this year (hosted by Brendon Julian with Allan Border/Mark Waugh/Brad Haddin etc)?

They’ve done that for most overseas series so I would say yes.

TWO TEST SERIES BEGINS AUGUST 27, 2017

EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE OF THE AUSTRALIAN TOUR AVAILABLE FOR FOXTEL SUBSCRIBERS OR STREAMED INSTANTLY ON FOXTEL’S NEWLY ANNOUNCED STREAMING SERVICE, FOXTEL NOW

FOX SPORTS today announced they will deliver EXCLUSIVELY LIVE coverage of Australia’s tour of Bangladesh ensuring cricket fans around the country don’t miss a moment of the action.

Beginning August 27 in Dhaka, Steve Smith’s men will take on the locals across two Tests in what will be their last outing before they host the Ashes on home soil.

Following recent maiden Test victories over Sri Lanka and England, it will be a buoyant Bangladesh outfit who take on the Aussies when play gets underway in one week followed by the second test match in Chittagong on September 4.

And with today’s news, fans will be able to watch start-to-finish LIVE and HIGH DEFINITION coverage on FOX SPORTS. Fans can get instant access with Foxtel Now, and be signed up and streaming all the action LIVE within minutes.

FOX SPORTS CEO, Patrick Delany, said: “This is a great outcome for cricket lovers. There will be plenty of interest around these two Tests and it’s fantastic we have reached an agreement so Foxtel subscribers can watch live on FOX SPORTS. We know there is only a week until the first test but with Foxtel Now, fans can sign up and be streaming the action live within minutes – it’s the perfect excuse to try.”

MD Moinul Haque Chowdury, CEO, TSM said: “Total Sports Marketing is delighted to work with FOX SPORTS to bring the test matches to Australian Spectators”.

BROADCAST SCHEDULE:

Bangladesh v Australia Test 1:

Begins Sun 27 Aug – Thu 31 Aug. Daily LIVE coverage from 1.50pm EST on FOX SPORTS More (Channel 507)

Bangladesh v Australia Test 2:

Begins Mon 4 Sep – Fri 8 Sep. Daily LIVE coverage from 1.50pm EST on FOX SPORTS More (Channel 507)

FOX SPORTS is available on Foxtel and Foxtel Now and subscribers can take the action with them on the go with the Foxtel App. Fans can sign up to a free 2-week Foxtel Now trial and stream LIVE within minutes. For more information visit: www.foxtelnow.com.au

Doesn’t look like Fox Sports will have a panel as coverage begins only 10 minutes before the first ball. Doesn’t look like there will be much cricket played unfortunately too as it’s monsoon season in Bangladesh - lots of rain predicted. I wonder if we’ll get to see an episode of Cricket Legends or two?!!

You mean the millions of times it gets aired isn’t enough for you?

Haha, a hint of sarcasm from me Wally! While I think Cricket Legends is a great show, when you can almost answer Crash’s questions to Mike Whitney word for word, then I think that means you’ve watched it one too many times!

I’d like to see Fox Sports show some older matches during rain delays, like they showed throughout the recent Champions Trophy. They obviously have plenty in their archives…bring it out and broadcast it!

Supercars: FOX SPORTS launches dedicated Bathurst Channel for 2017 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000

FOX SPORTS’ dedicated 24/7 Bathurst channel, on Foxtel, will return on October 2, delivering week-long entertainment and around-the-clock action from the most iconic event on the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar.

FOX SPORTS 506 will become the home of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, with every session LIVE, continuous and in HD. Fans can also get instant access via Foxtel Now, and be signed up and streaming all the action LIVE within minutes.

In addition to start-to-finish coverage LIVE from Mount Panorama, the pop up channel will feature several new entertainment programs, a number of old favourites, plus classic races throughout the week.

Jess Yates and Russell Ingall countdown Bathurst’s most unforgettable moments on the all-new Bathurst Top 10 Shootout, at 7.30pm EST on October 2.

Fans can relive the biggest crashes, the most nailbiting finishes and controversial moments ever seen at The Great Race. Fans can also have their say on what features on the show via a social media poll on FOX SPORTS’ Facebook page in the lead up to the premiere.

Bathurst Legends returns at 8.30pm to delve into the folklore of The Great Race and some of the most memorable stories to have emerged from the mountain.

This year’s episode takes an in-depth look at 2006; the haunting year that Mount Panorama claimed Mark Porter’s life, Peter Brock passed away, and his mentee, Craig Lowndes went on to claim his second Bathurst victory.

FOX SPORTS will pay tribute to some of the biggest names to have conquered the mountain in Bathurst Heroes & Legends, premiering on October 3 at 7.30pm.

Neil Crompton will be joined by Allan Moffat, Jim Richards, Fred Gibson, Colin Bond and Mike Raymond for the 60-minute program that will examine some of the finest achievements of these legendary drivers.

Inside Supercars returns at 6.30pm on October 4, with Mark Skaife, Greg Rust, Greg Murphy, Crompton and Yates on hand to preview the action ahead.

Attention turns to the track from October 5, with Skaife and Crompton calling each session, while Ingall and Yates analyse the action and all the big talking points across the weekend.

Then on October 6, Pit Lane LIVE returns to take viewers behind the scenes as drivers and teams prepare for the biggest race weekend of the year. The show will also feature the Grand Final of the Pirtek Pit Stop Challenge, where the four fastest crews of the 2017 season compete for $25,000 and the Golden Rattle Gun Trophy.

FOX SPORTS’ Supercars Race Centre will be the ultimate companion to the TV broadcast. Available via foxsports.com.au and the FOX SPORTS App, the Race Centre will offer fans unrivalled access to team radios, live timing and racing stats, car telemetry for all 26 Supercars and an up to the minute blog of key events during each race.
