So not from the studio?

Weren’t they always the world feed for non 7 produced matches?

My point exactly- nothing changes with overseas arrangements- they just take the host broadcaster (I.e. for Seven games they take the Seven feed)

Wow must’ve missed that, that’s a shame, a true end of an era for FTA. Wonder if this’ll be the case every season though, as the contract that was signed has that ‘post R16 Sat FTA clause’.

That was before though Thursday Night Football was extended to be played nearly every round.

Seven negotiated additional Thursday Night and the extra Sunday Night matches instead

I reckon the only time 7Vic will get H&A Saturday footy during this period ('25-'31) is if Anzac Day falls on that day. Which will be next year, and that’s it.

Kayo (Fox Footy) have screwed up with their “Kayo Call-Up” competition.

Promoted originally as if it was going to give some up-and-comer commentator (or boundary rider or host) a go at the big time.

They announced the winner as Jarra Davis. A Tik-Tocker.

Not only has that pissed off all the local/state league footy commentators that have applied, more is coming out.

He was a digital producer for Seven’s Armchair Experts last year, so not a big break as this competition was meant to be.

BUT it gets worse. It was discovered on Linkedin that he had already worked for Kayo as a content creator back in 2022. When he was called out on it, an hour later it was removed from his LinkedIn page (luckily, someone got a screenshot).

I did see that on Instagram before, the whole competition was rigged. The top 6 applicants were all social media stars or journo’s.

I’d expect the “ANZAC Eve” match to also be in that category now.

Yeah, can’t really move that one either, can you?
Guess that adds 2027, then.

Lol. Probably part of the criteria: “must be actual famous Tik Tok person”

Maybe Media Watch should take a look at this in a future episode.

Richmond Tigers legend Dustin Martin still a chance to join Fox Footy commentary team

Richmond great Dustin Martin is still “a chance” to join broadcaster Fox Footy with positive talks continuing.

The pay-TV stable unveiled its star-studded commentary and hosting line up on Tuesday with Fox Sports Managing Director Steve Crawley saying a good rapport had developed with Martin, who has now featured in his second network promo.

The Herald Sun revealed in November that the retired Tigers premiership hero and his manager Ralph Carr had met with Crawley, Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany and Fox Footy expert Jack Riewoldt.

“He likes us and we like him and we’ll keep chipping away,’’ Crawley told the Herald Sun.

“Someone said to me last night, Dustin Martin is going to be a commentator? And I’m thinking if he wants to be one, he’s going to be one, because people don’t know about this guy. He’s got something. I really like him and we continue to talk to Ralph Carr.’’

Riewoldt hinted he may join forces with his old mate again.

Seemingly that means that Kath is moving back to Melbourne for the footy season? Wonder who will take her spot on the boundary in Perth and the occasional Adelaide game?

Or she will have a studio in Perth. They’ve talked about having saturday coverage until midnight, so that would make sense if they did it from Perth meaning only 10pm local in winter.

Ruby Schleicher is a good choice for the boundary on Friday nights.

Friday nights on Fox sounds more appealing to me now with the news that the Chief will be doing special comments. His analysis is always spot on.

Anyone else notice the panels for thursday and friday night remain unchanged from last season? Not the I’m complaining, they’re both solid lineups.

I agree, and Lyon is the perfect host for FNF and also, his analysis much like Chief is spot on.
