Fox Footy

I hope just the score bug on the button is the only inspiration from the new fox bug it takes.

Keen to see all the changes, just 17 days to go til the first game!

The new fox scoreboard is great. A lot of others will now start to follow this design style.

I think Fox will have the scorebug at the bottom.

Fox footy is somewhat closer to Bally Sports/Fanduel Sports

Sure, it looks great if you like half-baked efforts that looked like they were whipped up in PowerPoint in 5 minutes.

So they are copying the worst scorebug design in American sports?

I think the person on big footy said itā€™s closer to Fanduel but probably not the exact style etc

The Herald Sun have revealed more information on Fox Footyā€™s line-up this year.

Thursday night
Mark Howard and Matt Hill calling
David King and Jack Riewoldt providing special comments
Sarah Jones hosting the coverage
Leigh Montagna and Jason Dunstall fronting a pre-match and half-time panel

Friday night
Anthony Hudson and Gerard Whateley calling
Garry Lyon and Jason Dunstall as experts, along with Jonathan Brown, Nathan Buckley and Jordan Lewis

Also worth noting that Corbin Middlemas will be calling games with Fox Footy this season.

Plus revamped panels for other shows:

  • First Crack: Jay Clark, David King and Leigh Montagna
  • Midweek Tackle will include Lauren Wood, Jon Ralph, Scott Gullan, Glenn McFarlane, Josh Barnes and Corbin Middlemas

Why canā€™t Seven and Foxtel just rotate the commentary teams, like Ten used to? I liked how itā€™d always be different.

Corbin will be a busy man, recording the ABC Grandstand Cricket Podcast with Ed Cowan on Mondays, fronting Midweek Tackle on Wednesdays, and calling matches for Fox Footy and ABC Radio on various days.

All the commentators have radio commitments on other days/nights.

Ten managed to work it out for 10 years.

Quartermain, Hudson, Lane, Christian, Walls, Darcy, Lloyd all had radio commitments.

Exactly - would help save the networks a fortune on travel costs as well if the use local personalities with one or two national oneā€™s.

Not mentioned are his Offsiders commitments, and the Corbin & Ben podcast on ABC Sport during the AFL seasonā€¦

Brilliant to see Corbin getting the chance to call games for TV! Heā€™s a fantastic caller, and has proven himself to be very versatile.

Great bloke in general too, am actually very fortunate to say that I worked with him (albeit briefly) at Sport FM way back in the day, so Iā€™m actually quite rapt that his career has taken off in such a big way!

Please. 10 only broadcasted on 1 day (Saturday) Much easier to rotate that way.

I think this paragraph is a bit misleading, at least saying the bit about Vic, but then confusing it with the one about other markets.

To me it reads Melbourne viewers wonā€™t see any AFL on FTA on Saturdays during H&A season, which is not correct.

It is correct. Ch7 has decided to show Thursday nights throughout the entire season instead of reverting back to Saturdays afte Round 16.
