Jack Heverin is commentating AFLW today for Fox Footy. Cath Durkin is also boundary side.
Was also boundary-side last night for the Cats Pies games.
Fixed.
Jack Heverin pops up everywhere. Also does the NBL coverage which airs on ESPN.
On radio he left SEN at some stage over the last 18 months and now does casual/fill-in commentary for Triple M including cricket over this last summer and did some AFL in 2021.
Jess Webster did play by play for Freo v Richmond this arvo. Was quite good tbh
Jack even pops up on the odd 3AW and 6PR calls when they need someone, and does quite a lot of commentary for Bowls Australia. Very versatile.
It was a pleasant surprise to get home from a motorbike ride and hear Jack’s voice emanating from the lounge room. Tbh I couldn’t really care less about AFLW but I’ll gladly watch just about any sport if the commentary is good.
From Patrick Keane of the AFL
Jess also calls play by play with Joel Peterson on ABC Radio’s coverage of AFLW each week. I think she is being trained to become a commentator on weekends during the upcoming AFL season, while working her regular job at Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on weekdays.
Really? I’d think she’ll do another year or two of AFLW before graduating to full time AFL. Might do the odd game here or there.
Brisbane Lions star Mitch Robinson will be boundary reporter for Fox Footy’s coverage of QClash tonight (it will be simulcast on 7TWO across Queensland at 6.30pm local time).
How come it’s always Brisbane people?
A Lynch
Zorko
Arnell
Robinson
Coz they might be better than any Gold Coast people?
The AFL confirmed today that this match would be held at Devonport Oval on March 5 at 1.10pm AEDT. All funds raised from the tribute match will go directly to the Hillcrest Community Public Fund.
Hoping to get some tickets and take the kids along to it, certainly has been received well by the community too which is good to see. It’ll also have North Melbourne as well doing some school training camps too along with Hawthorn I think. There’s also going to several other fundraising things happening on the day too.
New graphics for the season preview. Looks like the new look will debut next week. The Fox footy logo is very blocky on the ticker. Must say not a huge fan, they should just use the club logos instead of the flag graphics of the previous package.
Hopefully they will be polished up by AFL 360 start
VFL will not be on Fox Footy or Kayo this year. Instead, it will be on the AFL website
So Fox no longer have the rights to the VFL, and no one else wants it?
> Broadcast and streaming: VFL broadcast partner the Seven Network will show a weekly game plus finals, live and free on 7 in Victoria and 7Plus nationally. Fans can catch up from anywhere around the nation on 7plus. All VFL matches in 2022 will be live streamed and available on demand via the AFL website and AFL Live Official App.
Ok, still on Seven then, that’s good.
