Fox Footy

Herald Sun’s ‘Media Street’ column is reporting that Eddie McGuire is scaling back his on-air duties and won’t be the frontman of Fox Footy this season. He is in negotiations with Foxtel about future projects, and is looking to expand his business interests overseas. He will continue to host Footy Classified on Wednesday nights on Channel Nine.

This is what Netball graphic looked like on Fox. Might be an indication of what their AFL graphics might look like.

That means Fox Footy will have to rely on the likes of Kelli Underwood, Brenton Speed, Leigh Montagna and Ben Waterworth to call AFL matches this AFL season, to reduce on the workload of Anthony Hudson and Dwayne Russell.

Mark Howard and Adam Papalia as well.

McGuire never did Play by Play alone. Always had a second caller.

Jess webster might get a call up as well as Jack Heverin

Will look better as a score bottom.

This. He was always an extra anyway so from a scheudling pov, it won’t make any difference. Normally did play by play with either Howie or Dwayno.

I would expect it too given they start broadcasting games on Fox Footy for the men on Thursday night

While we wait for the official press release from Fox Sports, the Herald Sun article has two main points:
On the Couch will premiere at the new time of 6.30pm AEDT/AEST, with Garry Lyon (host), Nick Riewoldt and Jonathan Brown. It will be repeated two hours later.
A new interview show Face-to-Face will feature Fox Footy personalities speaking with their old mates. It will replace Open Mike and Bob (with Bob Murphy).

I’m guessing this is to facilitate possible Monday night games later in the year, which would most likely be exclusive to Fox Footy.

More to do with Lyon and Brown on breakfast radio.
