Adam Papalia called last night’s Fremantle-Hawthorn game at Optus Stadium. IIRC it was his first match call since round 1. The experts including Dermott Brereton did their job back in Melbourne.

Do we think FOX Footy comms will ever return to the venue for interstate matches?
I’d really hope they do as soon as possible because that just makes it seem so more real

I have a feeling the answer will be no. Fox will have a boundary rider at games, but the overall coverage will come from a centralised place.
Money is what talks greatest and they have now shown they can call games from centralised place.
Reckon if they decide to do that, there won’t be a universal hard and fast rule. For example, they might do on-site commentaries for ‘big’/high-profile games but do lower-profile games from the studio

Herald Sun reports Fox Footy had to cancel AFL 360 for the second night in a row with Gerard Whateley isolating at home.
Why don’t they just bring another host in???

Isn’t Anthony Hudson the usual fill in host?, he’s also with SEN.
Thought it was strange there was no 360 tonight. It’s easy enough for them to do the normal pre/post game show, they only use 360 because they’ve paid for it.
