Bounce - 350th episode

Sunday 23 June

LONGEST RUNNING FOX FOOTY 'FOOTYTAINMENT’ SHOW, BOUNCE, CELEBRATES 350TH EPISODE THIS SUNDAY

Since 2007, former AFL rivals Jason “Chief” Dunstall and Danny “Spud” Frawley , plus an eclectic crew of mates have charmed footy fans every week on FOX FOOTY’s flagship sports entertainment program, Bounce . This Sunday, June 23, Bounce celebrates 350 episodes and reflects on the hilarious favourite moments of the last 349 episodes.

From the the revolutionary introduction of the ‘ Golden Fist Award’ – that’s now a critical component of footy fan language – to the cult-segment ‘Numerology’, Bounce is football’s longest running variety show that has families in stiches.

It’s the FOX FOOTY “footytainment” show that has something for everyone: Analysis, laughs and highlights – often in the same breath. A balance that has stood the test of time.

Regular segments ‘Turn It Up’ is a phrase from the 1950s that Bounce has single-handedly reintroduced, while ‘Yesterday’s Heroes’ sees footy greats making fools of themselves to make viewers laugh every week. More recently, Bernie Vince , Sharni Layton and Cameron “Moons” Mooney have participated in the heroes challenges under the experienced eyes of Chief and Spud.

Timing has always been one of Chief’s great strengths. Whether he’s delivering a scathing critique of a dribble kick or pursuing Moons or Spud in a bitter debate, the Hawks legend never misses a beat.

The guest list across the first 349 shows reads like a who’s who of Australian sport and comedy. Mark Bosnich , Nathan Buckley , Rodney Hogg , Mike Sheahan and Sam Pang are among a long list who have graced the couch.

This Sunday after the footy, fans will revel with Chief, Spud, Moons and basketball icon Andrew Gaze as they celebrate the best bits of their last 13 years on air.

The 350th episode of Bounce airs this Sunday 23rd June on FOX FOOTY – channel 504 on Foxtel.

New show “The Bullring” headlines FOX FOOTY’s Finals coverage

Garry Lyon will host a fast-paced combative new 30-minute show, The Bullring, every Wednesday during the finals. Three-time premiership player Jonathan Brown will join the Melbourne great and former St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt as they discuss the biggest finals stories in history and today.

The Bullring promises to push the boundaries with the two young bulls (Brown and Riewoldt) debating hot topics with the older bull (Lyon) aiming to provoke the two. They will have many laughs along the way, with regular tongue-in-cheek segments, such as ‘Self Grab or News Grab’, poking fun at media and themselves.

Among a colourful suite of segments, Lyon will compare his era to the modern game with ‘That’s Not a Knife”, Brown will offer key footy figures and players advice during “Coffee With Browny” and Riewoldt will wrap his arms around personalities doing it tough with “Give Us A Hug”.

“The Bullring will be a lively, fast-paced chat about the issues of the day with an eye to the past as a reference point. We’ve just scratched the surface of Brown and Riewoldt’s media talent and as the show’s name suggests, getting the young bulls into the ring, eyeballing each other across the desk should make for some interesting and entertaining viewing,” said Lyon.

The Bullring headlines a huge four weeks of finals coverage on FOX FOOTY. David King and Ben Dixon return for The First Crack Podcast this Saturday night after the footy. The televised podcast will offer fans the first analysis of the four qualifying and elimination finals.

Fan-favourite AFL 360 airs Monday-Wednesday making way for the game on Thursday and On The Couch will continue in regular time-slot on Mondays. Jason Dunstall and the Bounce team move to the special time on Saturday afternoon live between the two blockbuster finals.

Australia’s favourite footy comedy quiz show, The Beep Test, with guests Kelli Underwood and Adam Spencer, and will air in regular time on Sunday after a replay of Bounce.

On The Mark takes a break this week, returning next week with special guests.

All four games will be televised live, with footy’s best and most respected commentary team bringing viewers as close as possible to all the action, with extended expert analysis shows pre/during/post and the best coverage live in HD with no ads-breaks during play.

Foxtel is the home of AFL in 2019, with FOX FOOTY taking fans closer to all the action on and off the field with every game of every round, plus all finals games leading into the Grand Final, LIVE in HD and ad-break free during play.

FOX FOOTY’s unrivalled expert commentary team includes the biggest names in the business: Eddie McGuire, Jonathan Brown, Jason Dunstall, Dermott Brereton, Mark Robinson, Gerard Whateley, Sarah Jones, David King, Paul Roos, Brad Johnson, Garry Lyon, Neroli Meadows, Nick Riewoldt, Bob Murphy, Kelli Underwood, Alastair Lynch, Gerard Healy, Dwayne Russell, Mark Ricciuto, Mark Maclure, Sarah Olle, Cameron Mooney, Nick Dal Santo, Ben Dixon, Matthew Pavlich, Mike Sheahan, Danny Frawley, Anthony Hudson, Jon Ralph, Tom Morris, Katherine Loughnan.

Stephen Quartermain has criticised Jason Dunstall for wearing leather gloves during Fox Footy’s coverage of Geelong v Collingwood qualifying final last night.

No doubt he is referring about that fight he had with the Chief in the Triple M Box back in 2009.

Trying to get in before Frawley would have on Bounce.

And Spud did indeed mention it on Bounce.

This has been done before though except it was Luke Darcy on Seven who was mocked for many years after this effort:

Neroli Meadows was understandably emotional on “AFL Tonight” when covering the passing of Danny Frawley.

She’s doing well to hold it together, you’d never want to have the job to have to announce the sudden passing publicly of a colleague and friend. AFL 360 will be tough tonight too I’d imagine and will have quite a few changes from what the plan was originally going to be this morning.

Bounce is not going to be the same.

Yes, she’s doing a remarkable job really.

A tribute from Gerard Whateley at the beginning of 360 Tonight and they’ve scrapped the entire show to dedicate to Spud. It’s hard watching people process and grieve so publicly but as they say the show must go on and tonight, people are wanting to watch and to grieve and they are all in shock.
