I love it, best of both worlds!
According to socials, Fox didn’t do commentary from Optus tonight. It was their normal Thursday call team and it was done in studio with Kath & Will as the only Fox people at the ground.
It was 2nd v 3rd & they definitely could have had Paps calling the game with Will Schofield and another analyst from Melb for the game.
Paps called for 6PR, although I have no doubt he would have done Fox instead if asked.
Meanwhile there’s VFL replays on Fox Footy as I write this in the wee hours of the morning. Interestingly it’s not just Fox’s own games being replayed. Currently airing is the ABC coverage of Carlton V St. Kilda. Up next is Seven’s coverage of Tasmania V Sandringham.
I wonder if Huddo will be calling Brisbane v Carlton on Friday night even though the Blues are really bad, or do you think they have him do Port Adelaide v Western Bulldogs?
According to the Blowtorch, yes he will
BRISBANE LIONS vs CARLTON
Friday May 8, 7.30pm at The Gabba
How to watch on Fox Footy: From 6.30pm on Channel 504, hosted by Garry Lyon, Tom Hawkins, Jordan Lewis and Jon Ralph, with commentary from Anthony Hudson, Gerard Whateley, Jason Dunstall, Alastair Lynch and Ruby Schleicher .
Normally he and Gerard Whateley would call the Friday night match that is also covered by Seven.
However there was one occasion last year when Gerard and Dwayne covered Essendon vs St Kilda (which was also covered by Seven) while Huddo called the Freo vs Lions match with Adam Papalia.
During the week, AFL360 did a promo in the lead up to Scott Pendlebury breaking the games record - he made his debut in 2006 so at the end of the package, it showed the original Fox Footy logo way back from 2006! Ahh the memories! This was the original Fox Footy channel 2002-2006 before it shutdown at the end of 2006 due to TV rights changes but Fox Footy was resurrected in 2012! Looked very cool - throwback and current logos were featured
..
Are Hudson, Whateley and Dunstall at the Gabba tonight?
Lots of complaints on socials tonight saying they aren’t.
JONATHAN BROWN SITS DOWN EXCLUSIVELY WITH GARRY LYON FOR A FOX FOOTY SPECIAL
JONO BROWN: HE’S BACK
TUESDAY MAY 12, 7:30pm AEST
EXCLUSIVELY ON FOX FOOTY, AVAILABLE ON KAYO SPORTS
One of the toughest men ever to play AFL faced his greatest challenge yet - and now he’s ready to talk about it.
In March, Jonathan Brown and his family received devastating news when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. The beloved Fox Footy personality stepped away from his broadcasting duties as he underwent surgery and began his recovery.
Now, in a deeply personal and emotional exclusive interview, Browny sits down with close friend and Fox Footy colleague Garry Lyon to open up for the first time about his diagnosis, his surgery, and the profound impact this experience has had on him and his family.
From the heart wrenching story of how he told his three kids, to the belief that his late mum was on the journey with him, and recovering with Levi Ashcroft on the golf course, Browny shares it all.
Don’t miss this powerful conversation with one of footy’s most beloved figures.

Exclusive Interview Tuesday May 13 7:30pm AEST

Fox briefly deducted one point from Brisbane. It was 100, swiped to 99, then swiped back to 100 after about twenty seconds.
Don’t believe so; considering Dunstall in MMM Melbourne studios for the Friday Huddle this afternoon and both Huddo (3AW) and Gerard (SEN) calling from Melbourne last night
Fox will be very happy with the fixture release. They get good Thursday and Friday matches (as does 7) but they also have 4 exclusive Saturday nights featuring VIC only teams (bad teams but still exclusive matches) & also 4 exclusive twilight games too.
While 7’s Sunday games are somewhat weak 3 games with Essendon & Richmond.
Desk team in the studio, but it looks like they’ve sent the callers to Brisbane for tonight’s match.
Seeing as Fox League went up there for Magic Round guessing they sent up some AFL comms as well
Not quite the same.
