Might as well give it to a competitor to drive revenue off?
No, itâs co-broadcast (like primetime matches except Saturdays), not Seven-exclusive.
Why would they âgive it to Sevenâ
Because itâs on Kayo Freebies and it still equates to a similar loss of revenue.
They can drive revenue via advertising.
Poor form AFL. Put it on FTA
AFL needs to grow the AFLW. Itâs not doing well with exposure or tv ratings or crowd etc compared to NRLW as a direct winter sport comparison. So an Australia vs Ireland should be on Fox & 7
FOX FOOTY LAUNCHES âPENDLES CAMâ FOR SCOTT PENDLEBURYâS RECORD-BREAKING GAME
BRINGING FANS CLOSER TO THE MOST HISTORIC NIGHT IN AFL HISTORY
PENDLES CAM: LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE ON FOX SPORTS, AVAILABLE ON KAYO SPORTS
Fox Footy is set to deliver its most ambitious broadcast of the AFL season this Saturday, unveiling a suite of special coverage to mark Scott Pendleburyâs record-breaking 433rd AFL game, headlined by the launch of an exclusive dedicated camera stream, Pendles Cam.
Available live and exclusive on Kayo SPORTS and Foxtel (Channel 507) from 4:30pm this Saturday, Pendles Cam will give fans a front-row seat to history.
The dedicated Pendles Cam feed will be locked entirely on Pendlebury from the moment he steps foot on the hallowed turf of the MCG before the opening ball-up, right through to when he leaves the ground after becoming the most decorated player in the history of the game.
Pendles Cam provides the kind of access to a history-making feat that fans have never had before. And for a night this big, Fox Footy wouldnât have it any other way.
Steve Crawley â Managing Director, Fox Sports said:
âAt Fox Footy and Kayo SPORTS, we are fans first, so we know a night like this is truly special. We want every Australian footy fan watching to feel like they are right there in the thick of it with Scott and part of this moment. Pendles Cam is our answer to doing that. Itâs the kind of coverage Fox Footy is proud to provide the fans of the game,â he said.
Pendles Cam will be complemented by live scores and play-by-play commentary from Fox Footyâs star-studded broadcast team Anthony Hudson (who called Pendleburyâs first ever game), Mark Howard, Jason Dunstall, Garry Lyon and Cam Mooney, ensuring fans donât miss a moment of the action while keeping their eyes firmly fixed on the man of the moment.
As part of the wider coverage - which will be exclusively live on Fox Footy, available on Kayo SPORTS across all States and Territories, excluding WA where it will be simulcast - Fox Footyâs premium coverage will ensure the milestone is given the celebration it deserves.
After the final siren, the milestone man himself will soak up the moment with good friend and Fox Footy commentator Mark Howard in an exclusive post-match interview. It will be a chance for Pendlebury to reflect on the night, his career, and what it means to stand alone at the top of the AFLâs all-time games record.

This Pendles Cam thing sounds like a satirical article from the Betoota Advocate.
âYouâll see a lot of pointing and directing, swivelling his head. Considering his position on the field,â Buckley told foxfooty.com.auâs Ben Cotton.
âHe directs his teammates into different positions at different times, youâll see constant movement.
âThe camera mightnât give you reference to see where heâs on the field as such, but heâll always be shifting, moving and adjusting to what heâs seeing in the game and where he can impact and influence.
That alone confirms this will not go down well.
I remember 10 had âAker Camâ in 2007 when the Lions played the Bulldogs. It was fine to use to highlight the odd thing in the breaks, but I canât imagine exclusively watching it wouldâve been an enjoyable way to view the game (not that you couldâve back then). Same applies here imo.
If itâs the typical zoomed in un-contextual nonsense they use nowadays then yeah it wonât provide much.
Iso shots are incredibly boring to watch for extended periods. And to think this is one of the reasons Fox bumped live coverage of the Korean Open golf off the linear channels. Grumble grumble grumbleâŚ
If they really want to show that tournament on linear television, they could have turned Fox Cricket into Fox Sports 501.
Back on topicâŚ
And will be dizzy with a drastic head-turning moment.
Also would like to hear what alternative plans they got if, God forbid, Pendles suffers an injury and gets given a âwill not returnâ.
Theyâll just switch to the match feed, obviously.
With the early match running well over the allotted time, will Fox ask the AFL to delay the Bulldogs v Demons match?
Nevermind, that match has been delayed by 3 minutes

Edit: And Fox viewers still missed the very start of the match, coming in with the countdown clock at 18:27 in Q1.
AFL360 REACHES HISTORIC 1,500TH EPISODE MILESTONE
FOX FOOTY AND KAYO SPORTSâ FLAGSHIP PROGRAM CELEBRATES MILESTONE AS LONGEST-RUNNING AFL SHOW ON TV
Tonight, Fox Footy and Kayo SPORTS will celebrate one of the most significant milestones in Australian sports broadcasting history, as AFL360 airs its 1,500th episode, the most episodes of any AFL program in history.
Since launching in 2012 as part of Fox Footyâs AFL rights deal, AFL360 has become the heartbeat of footy conversation. Itâs been an unmissable fixture in the weekly routine of footy fans across the country, delivering the gameâs biggest stories, sharpest analysis, and most compelling conversations, night after night, season after season.
While Gerard Whateley and Garry Lyon are the faces of the show today, the co-host chair has welcomed some of sportâs most iconic figures. Former Herald Sun Chief Football Writer, Mark Robinson was a staple for 14 years, the late Shane Warne was a genuine fan of the program and a natural in the seat, former AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan brought a unique perspective from the gameâs top office, and a host of football royalty including Jason Dunstall, Nick Riewoldt, Leigh Montagna, David King, Jordan Lewis, Nathan Buckley, Dermott Brereton and Adam Simpson have all filled in across the years.
The show pioneered a format that remains a world first in sports broadcasting: multiple AFL senior coaches speaking candidly to one another in a live panel setting. Over the years, the likes of Mark Thompson, Nathan Buckley, Paul Roos, Sam Mitchell, Chris Scott, Brad Scott, Alan Richardson, Rodney Eade, James Hird, Leon Cameron and Simon Goodwin have taken their seats around the desk. In 2026, all 18 AFL clubs are represented through the showâs rotating coach format.
The players featured have been equally star-studded. From Eddie Betts, Bob Murphy, Jordan Lewis, Brad Sewell, Jack Riewoldt and Brendon Goddard to the current generation of Toby Greene, Patrick Dangerfield, Nick Daicos, Errol Gulden, Christian Petracca, Zach Merrett, Jeremy Howe, Josh Dunkley and Jordan Dawson, AFL360 has always had the gameâs biggest names speaking openly and honestly.
On the road, AFL360 has taken its desk to the moments that define the football calendar: Gather Round, the Brownlow, AFLâs Hall of Fame, the MVP Awards, Grand Final week at Federation Square and outside the MCG, as well as live broadcasts following Kingâs Birthday and Easter Monday clashes at the 'G. Wherever football has gathered, AFL360 has been there.
There have also been moments across 1,500 episodes that have transcended the sport, and when the biggest news rocks the footy world, fans turn to AFL360. Most recently seen when a raw and emotional Garry Lyon spoke of the loss of his great mate Neale Daniher shortly after he had passed away.
AFL360 co-host, Garry Lyon said:
âI came to this show acutely aware that it was the place football lovers went to to understand what was happening in the football landscape.
âThere are so many layers to football these days, and I hope that between Gerard and myself we can provide some sort of clarity on issues that emerge, both on field and off.
âThere is plenty of hysterical football reporting, what I hope this show provides is a balanced, grown up, considered dialogue that is respected at AFL level, clubland and in the broader football supporting community.
âGerard is the most professional voice that makes the most sense of the most complex issues of anyone in the game today. He has the ear of every key decision maker in the game and is the man that the 18 coaches want to be interviewed by. Because they know there is no agenda, that he will ask the right question at the right time, that there will be no easy ride, but nor will there be any hot take grandstanding.
âAs a co-host, he has an innate understanding of the game which in turn allows him to bring out the best of what I have to offer. Allowing the person you work alongside to be the best performer they can be is the most underrated skill in the business. Gerard has mastered this from day 1 on AFL 360.â
AFL360 co-host from day one, Gerard Whateley said:
âItâs been such a privilege to be part of AFL360 for 1500 episodes. It feels quite poignant to reach that marker this week in particular.
âReflecting upon and reliving Neale Daniherâs appearances on the program taking us back to the early years where the set was a little more rustic and the hair a little more plentiful.
âIt reminded us of the beautiful connection Robbo had with Neale and those nights when the 360 Family would respond to urgings.
âRobboâs contributions were immense, so often amusing and lasting.
âGarry is the statesman of the industry now. If you reflect on what he says weeks later, itâs not the least bit uncanny how searingly accurate he is.
âWhat an honor to share 360 with him after all the programs heâs led for a generation.
âProducer Tim Hodges has been the life force since the program began its nightly run in 2012. It was conceived to be more than the conversation; itâs the packages that celebrate the game and tell the dramatic stories like the build-up to a coach sacking.
âWe have always had wonderfully talented people from the edit suites to the control room to bring the show together under Timâs direction and creative flare.
âWe love watching those pieces go to air setting the tone for what is about to be discussed. Often, itâs a high bar to live up to.â
From a standing start in 2012 to 1,500 episodes in 2026, AFL360 has earned its place not just in the television landscape, but in the lives of Australian football fans.
Episode 1,500 airs tonight Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30pm on Fox Footy, available on Kayo SPORTS.
AFL360 hosted by Gerard Whateley and Garry Lyon airs Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm every week across the season on Fox Footy, available on Kayo SPORTS.
Baffled as to how Fox Footy doesnât know the history of their flagship AFL show. AFL 360 actually launched in 2010.
Theyâre only counting the shows under the current format
Been noticing that since last week, the AFL highlights are back to keeping âSuper Saturday Liveâ on the scorebug and not the âAFLâ.
This could be because 7 are now showing the local matches LIVE? Although AFL highlights did use âAFLâ during vic only Fox exclusive matches so honestly donât know whatâs been happening
