This is the first year of the new tv broadcast rights. Since Fox now calls every game, Huddo does 3 Fox games a week and only does Thursday night games for 3AW.
Whatâs the issue?
Donât know but it mentioned something to do with rights or the video not being available anymore when i tried to play it. Can anyone enlighten me who was on the pre-game coverage as not even Fox themselves mentioned anything about talent.
Watching the highlights of AFLW match between West Coast and GWS, I noticed that Jess Webster was the main caller rather than Adam Papalia. Did Adam travel to Melbourne to commentate the AFL GF for 6PR?
He was definitely in Melbourne Friday and called Blues v Freo so I assume so
Yes 6PR had Papalia, Mark Readings and Karl Langdon all calling, plus Brad Hardie in specials. All were on site at the MCG
While the live replay on Fox at 6pm Saturday showed the original 7 broadcast footage showing Richo, the replay they have on Kayo does not show those pictures. It cuts to a different camera angle. The video on kayo & 7 are completely different for about 10-15 seconds
Does anyone happen to have a screenshot of when a player sets up for goal and Fox overlay their history/probability over the goals? I canât for the life of me find one.
If you go to AFLâs YouTube channel and look under match highlights of the regular season, you will be able to find occasional use of the goal overlay on Foxâs coverage.
Nathan Buckley is getting back into AFL coaching.
The former Collingwood superstar and coach will join Geelongâs coaching staff as an assistant for the 2026 season.
However the 2003 Brownlow medallist will also continue his work at Fox Footy, where heâs one of the gameâs leading analysts.
Buckley is set to remain in his Fox Footy roles, featuring on On the Couch and on match commentary, while working with the Cats.
He will speak on Fox Footyâs Trading Day on Tuesday evening (from 5pm AEDT) about the decision.
I was very excited until that sentence
Fox Footy broadcast viewers missed the first minute of the West Coast v Geelong AFLW game tonight due to the Port Adelaide v Hawthorn game running long.
Poor organisation from the AFL and broadcasters not to delay the first bounce in Perth by a few minutes so the second game could be telecast in full.
Fox Footy will broadcast both days of 2025 Telstra AFL Draft, live from Melbourneâs Marvel Stadium, on Wednesday and Thursday this week (November 19 and 20). Live coverage begins at 7pm AEDT on both days.
Fox Footy will broadcast the W Awards live from Centrepiece at Melbourne Park tonight at 7.30pm AEDT. It will feature the All-Australian Team, mark and goal of the year, the Telstra Rising Star, and the AFLW best and fairest medal. North Melbourneâs Ash Riddell is a warm favourite to take out the B&F award.
Fox Footy took Sevenâs commentary and graphics for tonightâs AFLW grand final between North Melbourne and Brisbane Lions, but had Lauren Wood on the ground for pre match and post match interviews. Kelli Underwood hosted Foxâs broadcast in the Southbank studio, with analysis from Daniel Harford and Ruby Schleicher.
Dermott Brereton has rejected a reduced role on-air next year, deciding to leave Fox Footy
Huge loss. Fox would use one of their newer talent like Ruby Schleicher more often next season. She is a rising media personality as well as captain of Collingwoodâs AFLW team
Huge loss is a bit extreme. Never appeared on any shoulder programming or prime time commentary teams.
Good riddance.
