Yeah and it wouldnât help that his good mate and former teammate from the famous 80s Essendon era in Tim Watson, who helped get Fight MND and the Big Freeze off the ground (and was the very first slider a decade ago) was a Seven talent. Theyâve obviously been the main media partners since day dot, also aided by being host broadcaster.
Mightâve been different if Fox Sports had been host, though unlikely thatâd ever happen, given Queens/Kings Birthday and how the AFL are always strong about FTA presence for marquee matches, let alone the lack of exposure Big Freeze wouldâve gotten.

Fox Footy will show the annual Australian Football Hall of Fame ceremony tonight, live from Crown Palladium in Melbourne. The two hour telecast starts at 7.30pm AEST.

Are the Fox callers (Hudson, Whateley, Dunstall and Riewoldt) on site in Launceston tonight? Watched the pre-game and no appearances from anyone except boundary reporter Nick Dal Santo. Iâm watching the game on 7 so unsure as to if it sounds like theyâre in Melbourne or at the ground.

No on-air talent at Engie in Sydney for GWS vs Gold Coast today?
Not shocked, as probably the least popular match-up you could have (and hence Blind Freddy couldâve told you Kelli Underwood would be a caller), the two newest and expansion clubs, also the early Sunday timeslot, but itâs still a Fox Sports production and simulcast on Seven in Sydney and Brisbane.

How come the current WB vs RICH game is on both 503 and 504? A lack of content?
GWS vs Gold Coast was on 504 at 1:10pm AEST, when that finished they switched to the Bulldogs vs Richmond game that had started on 503 at 3:20pm AEST and it stayed on both so no one had to switch channels.
They donât normally show the same game on both channels though?

Normally thereâd be a 4:40pm AEST game for 504 to go to, but not today due to byes (although the last couple weeks theyâve had a late game rather than the early game).
Have seen this before but itâs been a last quarter from a game started half an hour or so later on 2 channels, normally in Perth. But not normally this much of the game.

AFL 360 showed some footage of Damien Hardwick flipping the bird in the coaches box during last weekendâs game against GWS. It never went to air during the game and it was shown on 360 in a good natured way
The AFL have now fined Dimma $2000 because of it

but why show it then though ? They know the AFL is a stickler in the mud about those kinds of things. I get why they to fined him but I think it was overkill to be honest. Maybe a clip around the ear would have been better ?
AFL Rising Star has been part of Fox Footyâs All-Australian Awards night telecast for several years.

It would have been moved anyway, itâs part of the NBA-style Rookie of the Year hype that the Rising Star has become.
Seemingly Fox only have Alastair Lynch and Brad Johnson on site tonight, no pre-game feature from any commentators, plus Dunstall was in the MMM South Melbourne studio for the Friday Huddle which basically confirms it for me
