Mistakes maybe, but the big thing going for them… they’re not 7!
Yeah, very odd that one. Will be curious if this is a once off or if it continues into tonight’s match.
Edit: It’s back to normal for the PA v HAW game.
Amen. Only comm 7 has that I rate is Bennett. If he came back to Fox there’d be no contest.
Fox will be calling the WCE v ESS Friday night Perth game remotely.
Not only is their regular Perth crew m.i.a., lead caller for the game Leigh Montagna will be rushing over from Marvel, where he’ll call the earlier NM v CAR game for Triple M.
They probably think everybody will just be watching Seven Perth’s simulcast anyway, which also has their own callers. So in this regard, not a great part of the deal for Foxtel, especially trying to grow Wa subs.
I thought 7’s was only Sunday games not all home games
Correct, it’s only for Sunday home games, as both Ryan Daniels will be calling for MMM and Mark Readings for 6PR.
Most home games are Sundays anyway generally the Sunday twilight slot
I was wrong. 7 will have a local broadcast
Fox using “Friday Footy” branding for the early game today, same color scheme as FNF. No special mics, though, so the new Fox Footy mics make a return.
Nice touch with the scoreboard this afternoon by including the number for the Good Friday Appeal.
Papalia and Pavlich in commentary from the ground. Blowtorch article had it wrong.
Well the Fox Footy article was wrong on that account, though in this case I’m glad.
Lucky the name isn’t Fox Footy Sports, it’d read FFS.
[joke only, don’t take it seriously]
So they should be promoting the appeal.
Fox were having issues with the countdown clock in the last quarter of the WB v StK game tonight. Finally fixed with 13m left in the quarter.,
Does TV get fed the clock details, or do they control it themselves?
Given the ground clock counts up, if they’re trying to do it themselves, it would be tricky to get it working properly again
TV gets the feed straight from the time keepers. They don’t do it themselves.
Fox have gone to the commentary box for a pre-game discussion, and it shows the Fox crew across two boxes, that can’t produce the best commentary outcome
