Was there a foxtel go outage? Happen for me when Maxwell got out.

Tonight’s post-match presentation had the player of the match and series, and the two captains talking to Fox Cricket commentators in the studio. Was it hard to have a commentator like Shane Warne coming down to the field to interview the players, just like Fox Sports’ AFL and NRL coverage during this year?

The days were added when the graphic was shown later during the broadcast

COVID protocols probably meant that wasn’t possible

On Saturday, the WBBL final’s post-match presentation had two podiums on stage, with Abbey Gelmi on one podium speaking to players standing at the other podium. Tonight’s post-match could have been in similar fashion.

It’s turned out to actually be Fox Footy’s Tom Morris. I was quite surprised when I read that FSN and Fox Football host/commentator Adam Peacock would be commentating. I’m surprised they haven’t used Tom more on Fox Cricket, as the last I’ve heard was the JLT Cup in 2018.

Phil Rothfield wrote in The Sunday Telegraph today that the upcoming tour match between Australia A and India at the SCG would only be open to SCG members. Everyone else will have to watch the match on Fox Cricket or Kayo.

Ok.

Nearly 2021 and still, we’re subject to 25fps/30fps streams.

The replay of the 1991 Australia v India match last night had a better framerate.

According to The Australian, Fox Sports has secured the rights to Australian tour of South Africa in February 2021, which includes three tests. However, given the recent COVID-19 scare in SA which saw the first ODI between the hosts and England postponed twice before it was abandoned, there is some doubt if the tour will go ahead if SA can’t fix up the biosecurity bubble.
Fox Sports has also secured the rights to all South African men’s and women’s international cricket until the end of 2023/24 season.

Australia vs India T20I Game Two the most-watched cricket game ever on subscription television

The sizzling start to Summer on Fox Cricket has continued across the weekend with Australia’s second T20I vs India yesterday attracting an audience of 623,000, to become the most-watched cricket game ever on subscription television.

With a LIVE audience of 623,000 across all Foxtel platforms, the second Australia vs India T20I bettered previous record STV audience set just last weekend with Australia’s second ODI vs India. The opening two games of the T20I series are up 49% for total viewing, and 18% for TV only against the 2018 T20I series played on India’s 2018/19 Tour of Australia.

Steve Crawley, Executive Director Fox Sports, said: “The summer of cricket is in full swing and we couldn’t be happier. After a cracker ODI series it went down to the wire last night, and our audiences are loving it.

“More white ball has proven to be a hit with the fans, and we’ve got plenty more cricket to come. Test team spots are up for grabs in the Australia A vs India A tour match today and tomorrow, we’ve got one more T20 on Tuesday night, the Big Bash beginning on Thursday and the First Test on December 17 with a day-night game at Adelaide Oval – bring it on.”

I think I’ve said it before, but I hate how on Fox it’s constantly “here on Fox” and “Fox Cricket’s (Name)” and “Fox” this and “Fox that”. The same with Fox League. Not so much Fox Footy, but it’s still there (they obviously can’t say a lot of stuff due to the simulcast deal). Like someone will hit a six and they’ll say “that’s almost hit the Fox Cricket cameraman” or “that’s almost up in the Fox Cricket commentary box”. 7 and 9 don’t, even when the matches aren’t being simulcast. And you can’t say “it’s because 7’s the world feed”, because Fox do it when they are. Like we are paying to watch it, we know which channel it is, you don’t need to shove it down our throat!
