Did Ian Smith not commentate for Fox today ? He was part of the SEN coverage but didn’t hear him on television.
He was on - did a stint at the end of the day.
Guessing he might be doing the late BBL game off tube maybe?
Ian Smith didn’t commentate either BBL game last night.
Brendon Julian was the main commentator of Sixers v Heat while ABC Radio’s Corbin Middlemas called play-by-play for the Scorchers-Strikers clash.
Is he commentating this Test match? I don’t think I’ve heard him at all this summer.
Not really my business but I wonder if his health isn’t great after he shared his diagnosis last year.
Yeah he hasn’t done much for Fox since COVID.
Might expect to see AB in the team covering the pink ball test at the Gabba in a few weeks.
Do hope he’s doing well though.
Looks like Fox has now lost audio and coverage from all but one or two cameras at the BBL match tonight, is Ch 7 ok or nah?
Seven seems OK to me on the last 20 minutes or so.
Yeah, Fox seemed to recover within a few minutes, just wasn’t able to do an A-B comparison at the time on account of watching it on the Desktop and the TV being in the other room.
When was this in the game?
Scrubbing through Kayo, it was during the 11th over (11.2) of the 2nd Innings (Hurricanes batting) when Fox lost the camera feeds, and used a wing-side camera for a few balls before switching to wide shot from one end until transmission was fixed, which came back during the 12th over (12.4).
Luckily the commentators happened to be at the ground this time so commentary wasn’t affected as much as it could have been.
It seems like they’ve been at games more often than not this year which is great. 7 much the same.
7 has been at more matches than Fox. Fox is definitely better than last season
I don’t think Fox is at the ground in Adelaide tonight apart from Mike Hussey & Kath.
They are using 7’s graphic for wicket, 4 & 6, which is what they normally have for off-tube games.
Also today, Isa said ‘welcome from the Gabba, when it’s clearly from a studio’
I noticed that the Super Smash and the T20i in NZ overlapped for a little bit of time this evening - was this by schedule or an overrunning SS game?
You’d never get that here
Schedule…sort of.
SS game started at (12:30pm for the women’s game preceding) 4pm local time, T20I started 7:10pm. It was always going to be pretty tight.
I was at that game and can confirm it was only Hussey and Kath. I sit under where the commentary boxes are.
First Test V New Zealand.
Michael Vaughn and Isa Guha appear to be ‘hosting’. Brendan Julian, Brad Haddin and Brian Lara in (that I’ve seen so far). No Mark Howard, no Adam Gilchrist (so far).
