One good thing about no football is people like Paul Richards, Brad Alderidge, Dave Howard, Jade Robran and Angie McBride have been getting weekend shifts. Robran might take back her old timeslots from Pilko over the next few years now she is back in Adelaide.
Anyone know where Tony Pilkington is? Jade Robran has been covering him for nearly a month. She does a good job.
As mentioned in the Nova Network thread, Jarrod Walsh had been made redundant from FiveAA and Nova 919. Yesterday was his last day on-air.
This could be a very boring sports show if, as per the article, is just Rowe.
5AA axe Bicks.
Surprising but the actual talking is fairly limited by the time they do all the adds, news and special guests.
Rowe should have been the one to go, very Crows biased, Bicks was slightly more balanced
A small change in Fiveaa programming. Will Goodings and the two breakfast show producers (Lucy and Andy) are doing a show from 5am to 5.30am every morning called the early breakfast. So the schedule is
5am Early breakfast - Will, Andy and Lucy
5.30am Sports Wrap - Tom Rehn
6am - 9am - David and Will
Strange timing when NE are making cuts all over.
Research must be bad in response to removing live middawns.
Adelaide may be a small commute city, however there’s always the shifts and jobs that begin before what is a late start for a talk breakfast show (6am).
It is interesting timing, it does coincide with Will Goodings finishing up at Ten. It is probably not costing any extra as they might all be there and it seemed from this morning it will be a different type of show to others.
I agree they need to start at 5am, I thought they could of just started Tom Rehn from 5am with a news / sports show.
Andrew Reimer is finishing up at Fiveaa. He has worked in Adelaide Radio for a long time.
I suspect it might be the 2am finishes listening the him last night. Not sure who will replace him. Paul Richards might take over weekend nights.
Andrew’s taken on a full time job in the funeral industry after being a self employed celebrant for a hile. He was meant to finish up next weekend but has been asked to do an extra weekend so October 4th is his last show.
He’s a great guy, I’ve met him and been to a funeral he’s performed and he did a great job, I wish Andrew all the best
Further update, Andrew Reimer is no longer leaving completely, will be on Sundays only and no filling in for Jeremy
Wow, that all changed quickly. They might have Paul Richards on Fridays and Saturdays and filling in for Jeremy and then Andrew on Sundays.
I still think they should get Jade Robran back permanently, ideally for Pilko but at least in a regular shift.
Mark Bickley finishes up today. Not sure if Rowy finishes for the year today or if he will fly solo for a few weeks until he goes on holidays. No announcement yet for next year.
I was hoping we might see some changes in the afternoon. To me Pilko’s show is unlistenable. I switch off now. It is terrible radio, age has caught up with him.
Conversations with Cornsey is good when there is a new episode but they only have a couple of new ones a week so I have heard the same episodes repeated four or five times this year.
It appears Angie has stopped doing the midnight hour sift but doing Sunday afternoons as well as producing.
I’m a bit late but Leith Forrest left the weekend breakfast show to be on the sports show with Rowey.
Paul Richards is filling in for Jeremy Cordeaux this week and next, Paul is good enough to have a permanent show besides Friday nights
I agree, I like Paul. You would have to imagine that with Leon, Pilko and Jeremy all well into their 70’s there could be some permanent shifts available in the next few years.
I am surprised they are having another year of the Conversations with Cornsey given how few new episodes they have.
I think Tom Rehn and maybe Mark Buckley are doing breakfast for the next two weeks?
I knew Dave Howard had been filling in but didn’t realise Leith had left weekends for good.
Tom Rehn and Kate Collins doing breakfast, Leith Forrest filling in for Pilko
I see they posted their Summer Schedule which is a good idea as some anouncers were all over the place. I am not sure if it is due to availability or by design but it is one of the more complicated schedules I have seen.
I am surprised to see Mark Aiston back again and they are rolling out KG for alot of shifts.
As mentioned above listening this week to Leith Forrest and Paul Richards they really could improve their main schedule by having either of them or even Matt Pantallis on from 12 to 4 every day instead of Pilko and Conversations with Cornsey.
Also a shame that live radio finishes at midnight, it would be good if Angie came back or Jeremy could go through until 1am.
Thanks @redline, do you have a link for this?
Here it is
