Five AA Adelaide

To this day I find it confusing why they don’t call it 5AA, but FIVEaa.

it used to be 5AA but some marketing ‘whiz’ must have sold them on the idea of FIVEaa. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Yes I think it was a novelty that has stuck around way too long…

Mediaweek published a follow-up article this morning on FiveAA breakfast show, this time focusing on the nine-member team.

Good read, thanks. Lucy is a genuine all rounder.

Seems now a days Tom Rehn only does about ten minutes from 5.30am to 5.40am and then Sam Daddow takes over again. Its all a bit messy.

Not sure Jade Robran is really adding much. Not really enough news in Adelaide for her to be out reporting.

Why bother having him there at all then?

That’s FiveAA all over. The talk radio knowledge, the specific Adelaide market knowledge of what works seems to have been moved on.

Management don’t quite understand the content and the need for quality consistency.

3 different newsreaders a week is very odd!

Kochie will join Will Goodings for FIVEaa’s breakfast show on Friday (tomorrow), filling in for the absent David Penberthy.

I really like what NOVA have done with the new FiveAA branding.

• David Penberthy and Will Goodings are Adelaide’s #1 AM Breakfast Show (5:30am-9am) with a 12.2% share.

This is incorrect - they only got 11.2% share according to the survey that they reference in the article (Survey 6) - behind Sonya Feldholf and Jules Schiller on the ABC (11.4%)

• Stacey Lee continues grew Afternoons Audience, up one point (1:30pm-4pm).

Also incorrect - they lost -0.7% in the same survey period.

Is this on the specific timings of the show though?

They did grew their audience in the Survey’s 1 & 2, however, they didn’t have any increase in Survey 3, and they lost 1.6% in Survey 4, 0.1% in Survey 5, and 0.7% in the last survey, survey 6.

In the article claims in survey 6 they grew their audience by 1% - they did not - they lost 0.7% of the audience.

Ok - so probably unlikely but are they using the data for the 2.5 hour show rather than the 4 hour block GFK releases to the public.

That make’s more sense - didn’t realise that there was additional break down of the data that isn’t seen by the public.

Still my point about Breakfast still stands.

Yeah - highly unlikely they went up in that 2.5 hour period versus the 12-1:30pm block but guess it could happen.

Radio stations can break it down quite deeply (hence why you see discrepancies sometimes on the 6-9 ratings versus 5:30-9am ratings for breakfast shows that start at 6)

Graeme Goodings to return to Adelaide radio, Matthew Pentelis to the newsroom

On Friday November 15, Matthew Pantelis announced on Adelaide’s FIVEaa that he would be leaving his morning show and returning to the newsroom. He will mark 30 years with the Nova Network station in 2026.

Graeme Goodings, the veteran TV news reader, occasional filler-inner and the father of FIVEaa breakfast show co-host Will Goodings (both main picture) will take over mornings from Pantelis.
