They should have just gone to News in Melbourne and swung back to Dees/Blues at Q1 or Half time.

Seven’s pre codings are going to be all over the place in preliminary data tomorrow morning 
I’d expect we might even see “M- White House Down (R)— PM” rank in Top 5 and do over 1m metro, as well as “M- The Time Machine (R)— PM” on 7mate rank. Actually represening news and AFL respectively. News in Melbourne at least will be interesting, showing us a rare glimpse into the ‘half time’ audience, which will also be further interesting as to how many stayed from soccer, as well as 7Two to see how many did not go to news, AFL or NRL.
And TV and 7Plus’ EPGs are now also all out of whack. Wonder what (if any) programs on 7, 7Two and 7mate will be chopped to get the schedule back in-line.
Also different in all markets due to split scheduling and time zones!

It used to happen quite regularly back in the 1990s when 7 had sole AFL rights and broadcast every interstate game live into Melbourne.

Why? Just to suit a tv station! I’m watching on Kayo, if 7 can’t show it at the advertised time that’s their problem.
What’s been forgotten is Australia reaching the SF is a 2-for-1 win for Seven. What I mean by that is from here, the Matildas will either progress to the final and we’ll see a night for the ratings record books next Sunday or play in the 3rd place playoff next Saturday - a game which would probably pull good numbers.

Lol. It will be a very interesting read at 10am when the ratings come out. The preliminary numbers for Seven will be so out of whack! lol. The 7.10pm News will be the extra time (and some of the shootout), and am sure the White House Down (m) will be top 5 for too.
The post match segment on 7two in NRL cities and 7Mate in AFL cities will have some high numbers for some random shows too. lol.

Tonight’s penalty shootout was the longest in World Cup history - men’s or women’s.

7 Adelaide were doing this a lot when Crows/Port had twilight games, stopped when news went to an hour.
Nursing home folks are going to be furious Escape To The Country on 7Two was interrupted for soccer post game
