Wonder why Rod Laver rather than opening up AAMI?

NRL game Sunday, so they are probably resetting the ground to fit NRL :man_shrugging:

The MCG confirmed the arrangement this morning:

We heard you :green_heart: :yellow_heart:
For those attending #AFLBluesDees, all gates will open at 4.30pm ahead of @TheMatildas quarter-final clash with France. The match will be shown on the big screens until the Blues and Dees run out, and will remain on all TVs around the ground #TilItsDone

Any chance they could light that shot?

The match is being broadcast on ABC News Radio in every state or territory capital, except Brisbane where it is on ABC Radio 612 Brisbane.

Also being relayed on regional NewsRadio too (unlike AFL in NRL states and vice versa).

Optus’ streaming is more than a minute behind play - have they still not worked out how this streaming stuff works yet?

Isn’t all streaming roughly a minute behind terrestrial?

Hamish Mclachlan just confirmed the soccer will stay on the main channel if the game and penalty shoot out goes beyond 7.30pm, with the AFL switched to 7mate in this scenario

But what about the news :sob: how with Melbourne and Adelaide cope.

I wouldn’t have thought streaming was usually that far behind, but tonight 7Plus also looks to be up to a minute behind terrestrial.

Attendance

0-0 after 90 minutes

News pushed back or not running at all?

Tough one isn’t it. Seven News will rate it socks off, great for the brand. Then the Dees and Blues will also rate well.

If France wins then they should cut to the news pretty fast. If Aussie wins, then probably cut the news they just won’t have the time.

That’s what I’m thinking - have a few updates with the major things and they could even potentially have a few minutes mini-bulletin in the half time of the football.
I’m surprised they haven’t put something on 7two but the ratings will likely be insane for 7 tonight and they don’t want to jeopardise that.

I recall once 7 News did run at half time in one sporting event, brain can’t remember what though!

Dees should have been pushed back to 8.10. I am sure 7 tried.

The match will finish at approx 7.30pm, if a goal is scored within this extra time. Thus going straight into the AFL in Melbourne and Adelaide. The News will be run at half time (aka “extended news update”).

It will be interesting if it will be a penalty shoot-out.

Question about the ratings - since so many big screens are covering the game as well, if there were significant numbers there and the numbers at each venue are known and not watching at homes, is there a way that information can be calculated and factored into the ratings?

Holey moley imagine the ratings.

Are they going to News in Sydney and Brisbane? I think that would be better vs AFL in terms of ratings.
