This Comedy Inc episode posted to MS:

Netflix’s Blockbuster. Faux news bulletin, strangely using the call letters of a read TV station that serves Washington DC while the last Blockbuster store is in Bend, Oregon.

Doubt the writers knew/know.

There are companies that make these fake news reports as well as fake newspapers etc that are seen on many TV shows. I would have thought they would check to make sure the call letters aren’t for a real station. They could at least have started the station call letters with a K like they should be.

I don’t think there was a lot of attention to reality from what I’ve seen so far. Being filmed in Vancouver didn’t help with the external shots.

from the 2022 Shortland Street Christmas cliffhanger last night

I very vaguely remember there being an extra for the 2015 cliffhanger that had a short news segment; but I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere.

I think it was just a generic “Ferndale News” banner. I don’t suppose anyone has any record of it?

This is a mock - Merry Christmas.

Not really a mock given it’s just from one of those “fake breaking news” websites. https://breakyourownnews.com/
