This is what I donât like. The information strap is way too big and covers too much of the screen. It pops up when you fast forward and covers too much of the screen when you continue to watch. Itâs also too dark and opaque on the left hand side.
Thereâs no need for it to cover the image below the progress bar. And thereâs no need for all that space between the program name, the recording length and the progress bar.
That Fetch UI looks very similar to the original FOXTEL iQ3 interface.
I also donât understand why they made these sorts of screens so much darker and there is no clear or translucent border so you can see whatâs happening underneath.
Is anyone else having trouble with the sound on certain channels again?
The Ten channels disappeared last week after crappy reception over the last 2 weeksâŚand now ABC. Tested direct thru aerial and all are available so looks like it is a Fetch issue.
I noticed their flashy ad on television last night.
Fetch still feels like a half baked service, a little like Select TV back in the day.
As in the amount of channels it offers compared to Foxtel?
My Fetch box from Optus was updated today. Optus customers always seem to be last on the list.
I tried the catch up from the previous 24 hours but at 9:00pm it wasnât able to find and play tonightâs ABC News ACT and The Drum despite them being available on iView. But Desperate Housewives on Nine earlier in the day was available on the 24 hour rewind. If Fetch is going to have this option then it needs to find every program that is available on the catch-up services, otherwise why bother having it.
Given Foxtel carry the same channels that Fetch had non-compliance for and the pay TV services just forward through the captions provided by the channel operators, shouldnât Foxtel have the same non-compliance as well?
Itâs all based on who complained to who - itâs like those cases where a regional radio station got stung for relaying 2GB content.
BBC World News has closed captions for at least some programs, but the Fetch report states that no programs on that channel had closed captions. ACMA didnât pickup that mistake.
Captions only started showing up relatively recently on BBC World News, whereas the report was for FY2018-19 before there were captions.
Thanks.
YouTube on my Fetch box, and on the previous box that crashed earlier in the year, was incredibly slow to launch. After this latest software update YouTube is now opening at the same speed as Netflix and Stan. Itâs good it fixed the problem.
Fetch needs to make a deal with disney to carry Disney+
