Fetch TV

Also, this backtracking thing. AMAZING!

Yes. As I mentioned, double episodes works that way for me too. Itā€™s when you have two different shows that it doesnā€™t.

Like if you try to record MasterChef and Have You Been Paying Attention straight after. The first stops when the second begins.

Itā€™s weird because youā€™re using the same tuner in both cases.

Iā€™ll have to try it myself.

I just manually started recording One Plus One on ABC News and set it to stop at 10:04, then set a recording for the 10:00 ABC News to start at 9:55. The first one ended at the set time and the second one started at the set time.

But Iā€™ll do the two consecutive timer records and see what happens.

Should Fetch broadcast the FTA channels on its network like the US IPTV services do? You could have a situation where every FTA channel is broadcast over the internet in HD (like 7 Plus, with its 7TWO and 7Flix HD live streams). It would mean not having to rely on OTA broadcast and make the service more in line with Foxtelā€™s cable offer.

Would definitely improve a service that looks like itā€™s haemorrhaging good quality subscription channels.

Would pay something like $5 a month for it. I live in a good coverage area but there is this massive tree that blocks my antenna so my already patchy coverage is worse with the Mighty boxā€™s unforgiving digital cliff.

Just popping back in to say that it works brilliantly. I have now worked out how to record two programs in a row and still have the before and after buffer which means Iā€™m now 100% happy with this product as a PVR, subscription channels, movie store etc. Itā€™s the perfect entertainment product.

I have Fetch for nearly 4 years and it works perfectly. 1TB box to record my programs as well as EPL/CL/EL matches overnight to watch at my convinience. Got it just to watch football. Iā€™m a big Chelsea fan, so Fetch is perfect for my entertainment.

Whatā€™s the tip there? Do you manually edit the scheduled series?

Yep so record both shows, go into the 2nd show and edit the before then go into the first show and edit the after and it works perfectly.

Iā€™ve had Fetch for about 5 years. I had the 2nd Gen and now the Mini. I never recorded much anyway with catch-up available. Once it gets Amazon fully on, and Disney+ itā€™ll be great overall product.

Thanks. Iā€™ll make sure I check my series tags and see if I can do that in future.

Well Iā€™m not using series tag. Iā€™m just recording manually each night and then editing the recording that Iā€™ve just set. So I did it with Home and Away and House Rules tonight and Home and Away continued recording and House Rules started recording 5 mins early like I asked it to.

Is there any way to remove the tiles of the shows youā€™ve watched across the top when your in the My Stuff column?

Not that I know of. Itā€™s a shortcut way to go back and watch something you havenā€™t finished watching.

There are going to be some interface changes to Fetch from next week, so the layouts may change anyway.

Didnā€™t realise this was a customer support forum

edit - this is no more off topic than whatā€™s above

More freebies from Fetch.

Theyā€™ve made the Variety Pack free for the month of June. The channel are BBC First, BBC uktv, Universal, Oxygen, MTV Classic, TLC, Discovery Turbo, cmusic, Investigation Discovery.

And theyā€™ve kept the news channels from the Knowledge Pack free for the third month running. So we still have BBC World News, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC.

Great of them to do this. Is it just because of Coronavirus? Or is this going to be ongoing, I wonder?

I think it would be good idea to keep them free forever, if possible. At least BBC news and CNN.

Iā€™d love the news channels to remain free. Gives me more of a reason to subscribe to a pack if theyā€™re in there. Makes you remember to use the pay channels.

The Coronavirus-linked promotion is scheduled to run for three months so unless itā€™s extended, the free access will end later in the month

Cheers, mate. I may have seen this already but forget.

Iā€™m thinking about getting a Fetch Mini Box, but what is better, buying it for $169 from a retail outlet like Harvey Norman or JB Hifi or though Optus for $5 extra per month, because I have a eligible postpaid mobile plan with them?

Buy outright, otherwise it is locked to the provider and if you want to change from Optus you are stuck with a paperweight.
