I recorded the final moments of Disney and Disney Junior. The EPG ran till 6am, but they both cut off soon after midnight. Nothing special to mark their demise.
It looks like Fetch cut off the feed as opposed to it actually ceasing on Disney’s part (as the captions continued over the ‘Channel unavailable’ overlay).
Disney Junior, which was cut off mid-programme:
Disney Channel, where they at least waited for the programme to finish:
I wish TPG offered Fetch, I was looking at their NBN plans and slightly better than their own iiNet who I’m with but with their superfast cable. Which is sadly not available where I’m looking to move.
In saying that the retail one runs fine on TPG… if you are ready to absorb the upfront cost. At least your Fetch device isn’t then tied to one ISP only
As long as Seven updates their EPG, it will record from the advertised time every day. I find it’s safer to add a couple of minutes to the Recording Start Time and about 10/15 minutes to Recording End Time.
If you keep the recording of the first screening in Recordings or Recently Deleted tabs, it shouldn’t record the same episode again. The only time it might, is if the network renamed the episode in the EPG when it was repeated. I record this show for my sister and it doesn’t record any repeats as long as I don’t delete the first episode until later in the week.
My only criticism is that if you wanted to record say masterchef then FBI the recordings don’t overlap. It cuts off as soon as FBI starts so to finish masterchef I have to watch the FBI recording. It’s annoying cause if I wanted to watch FBI first and masterchef another day I have to keep the FBI recording so I don’t miss the masterchef ending.
My old box could cross record and record the end of MasterChef and also record 10 mins before FBI. If that makes sense?
There is a limitation though which I haven’t quite figured out yet. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the the network or because of consecutive recordings on different channels.
Anyway, when I record Blackish on 7flix or Brooklyn 99 on SBS, I have set the standard for Recording Start Time to 3min before. When they show double episodes, the first episode keeps recording and the second episode also starts recording with the extra 3mins at the start.
Other times I will record two different shows back to back as you have done and one recording must end so the second one can begin. I’m just not sure why.
I’ve just been playing with it and set to record 2x Will and Grace later tonight as a test. Once I set to record the 2nd episode it automatically took away my 5 mins before but I went in and set it again to 5 mins before and saved it then went back to the first episode where it took away my 10 mins after so I put it back and saved it. Went back and checked both scheduled episodes and now it says it will do what I want by recording ep 1 for 10 mins later and ep 2 for 5 mins earlier therefore overlapping. Let’s see if it’s works and hopefully doesn’t correct itself when the 2nd episode tries to record!
I did but it takes away my 10 mins later and 10 mins before by itself if I do that cause it knows it’s straight after the first episode. It’s too smart!
Unless it’s the new firmware?, because I’ve never had that problem. When I was recording TBBT on Nine last year it would record the first episode including the extra 2 minutes before and 15 mins after I had added, and the second episode would record similar with the added time before and after.
