Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

If I don’t see something like this on one of the Simpsons meme groups in the coming days I’m going to be very disappointed.

Yeah. It’s not flash.

Sometimes even at the time and point of purchase. ‘Sandwich artists’ are not all made equal.

Subway stores smell weird - and it’s not the smell of fresh bread being made. It’s just weird.

although not the case, it’s always felt like it’s an artifical scent of “fresh baked bread” that comes out of an air freshener can. It’s crazy how much it travels, hundreds of metres in some environments.

Looks like the Wahlburgers business is expanding in Australia.

I hate to be ‘woke’ but I don’t have a good impression of Mark Wahlberg ever since he taunted us with the incessant Ladbrokes ads a while back. That’s all I can think of when it comes to his recent ‘performance’. I am an anti-gambling woke wannabe (and don’t even get me started talking about some religious sportsperson who rather wear a jersey with a big fat gambling logo than a few little rainbow stripes). Oops I digress.

I am happy to stay loyal to my beloved McDonald’s.

You should maybe be a little more open minded and not let a sports bet ad sway you from trying a fast food option (if that’s your thing). Bit odd.

Casting my bias about that celebrity aside, I just never really find myself embracing the other smaller franchises. Mind you I did try - Carl’s Jr, Huxtaburger, Burger Edge (not even sure if this one still exists!). I have this unshakeable thing that the marketing guru would describe as consumer habit.

Disclaimer: I don’t want to sound like a junkie promoting fast food. As my overly protective and health conscious father used to remind me - everything in moderation.

He’s also a criminal with a pretty bad past. Just like all the whitewashing with Mike Tyson.

They’re supposed to be opening up in Melbourne’s Southbank on Monday (8th August).

Supposed? I think you’ll find they are

Who knows what might happen in the next four days!

Right.

Five Guys will be opening on the ground floor of Freshwater Place complex. I think I will wait another two weeks before visiting the store, to avoid the first day queue.

The first day queue would have ended by the second day.

This is the recently opened Five Guys in Sydney which is located on an arcade which runs between George Street and York Street. Does anyone even know it’s there? This was after 5pm yesterday and there were practically no customers.

The Melbourne store is listed as open Monday-Wednesday only, is this an error?

Maybe staff shortages? The owner tries to let things settle down a bit in the opening weeks?

I think the hours are updating in ‘real time’ as they are now Mon - Thu. I’d expect that’ll show Friday later. And then Sat/Sun as the weekend moves on.

Domino’s will be making and selling burgers from Monday. Saw a TV ad tonight.

Burgers also really need chips to go with them, not sure HOW Domino’s will make theirs, but if they plan to bake them in their pizza ovens, I can’t see how that can taste a nice as a freshly cooked beef patty on a stovetop/grill.
