Oh great, another one of these ads to be annoyed by…
Haven’t heard of a single one these people.

Even though I do not live in Sydney but only visited the Cafe once (post siege), it is sad to see it go.
Gosh I remember that night vividly. Why did it close? Pandemic?
Yes, not enough customers.
They also have another location in the Sydney CBD.
Regarding the closure of Lindt Cafe at Martin Place. COVID aside, would the construction of Sydney Metro underground station nearby have had any effect on foot traffic?
Along with all the other factors mentioned (pandemic, Metro underground station construction, even the lingering legacy of 15-16/12/2014), Seven moving out of Martin Place next year might be another reason why Lindt have decided to close that cafe to focus on their Sydney CBD location?
The foot traffic from the existing Martin Place station was not really affected when the Sydney Metro construction began. I was using that station and there wasn’t much difference.
COVID was a completely different story though. A lot of businesses in that CBD area, shut down forever during the first lockdown. I can imagine there would be a lot more shut down after the second one.
Seriously doubt that. Staff from Seven would only amount to a tiny bit of their clientele. There are new buildings being constructed as part of the Metro project and you’re probably going to have twice as many people using that station in the future. They probably just can’t make it work again at the moment and are unsure how long it would be before they could make a profit in that part of the CBD again.
McDonald’s officially scrapped all-day breakfast nationwide from last Wednesday (October 20). Apart from hash browns which is available all day, the other items will now be only available until midday.
Meanwhile Maccas will recruit more than 11,000 people across Australia.
Interesting they’ve kept all day hash browns, maybe a last minute decision considering Hungry Jacks has just stopped doing them all day.
A reasonable compromise from a time perspective compared to the old 10:30am restriction.
I wonder if they were the more popular all day breakfast item (and I probably don’t need major alterations to workflows to deliver during the day)
Probably easy just to cook them in the deep fryer vs having all the cookers and prep going for everything else.
Been noticing that some McDonalds stores are not reopening dine in areas yet, was at the store in Box Hill Central, which has a small dining area attached to it,and there were notices up, saying there are working out the safest way or providing dine in facilities in the future.
I heard a rumour that stores are doing it to prevent arguments from the non vaccinated, it is easier not to do dine in at the moment.
I’ve also heard McDonalds is very short on staff at the moment.
Yes, I noticed at Box Hill they seemed very light on with staff, at the time I was there, there was only 1 or 2 girls serving, and a few others in the kitchen. There must of been a reduction of rosters, or a mass exodus of staff due to Covid etc.
Yes, they recently advertised for 11,000 staff. A lot of industries short on staff right now eg hospitality, fruit growers etc.
The five items are Caramilk Giant Apple Pie, Milky Bar Raspberry Bullet Megashake, Carbonara Chicken Tacos, Carbonara Cob Loaf and a ‘Movietime’ cocktail with Maltesers and popcorn.
