Saul’s are really good in Melbourne for Sandwiches. I have had a few times and particularly like their Chicken Parm sandwich. There are a few stores
now in Carnegie, Bentleigh and Hawthorn.
Used to be Quiznos in Australia. I remember going to their outlet at West Lakes in Adelaide. They were pretty good.
I had Subway a lot when I was over in the states for work and I did not notice a big difference in menu choices or quality. What I did find interesting is Subway in the UK had drinks supplied by Pepsi rather than coke like here and in the US.
We used to favour the local takeaway shop rather than MacDonalds or KFC when I was growing up. Only ever went to Maccas for 30 cent soft serve cones or if I was invited to a birthday party as a child which wasn’t very often.
Agreed. It’s ridiculous that basic improvements to the menu take several years to pop-up in Australia (baby spinach was available when I went to the US in 2013, took several years to make it to Australia - same for wraps as an option) - also always a wider range of sauces.
Was the same in Australia through to the 2000s at least and maybe a bit later, a whole lot of Subways had Pepsi post-mix too.
Vegan meatballs are very popular here in the UK, why that isn’t an option is crazy.
i’d love a great new york style deli here in brisbane. i found a great one just around the corner from my hotel and i was a regular for my stay
We had Jersey Mike’s Subs in Queensland for a while. Best subs I’ve had and their Philly cheese steak roll was legit. They had to close due to the pandemic, which was a shame.
McDonald’s is bringing back southern fried chicken to the menu. The Waitara, Waterloo, St Marys North, Padstow and Dapto stores have been selected to trial the new menu addition in NSW. They’re charging around $13 for three pieces of chicken, fries and a drink.
Me, in WA (minus being old):
I’ve never seen that here before. Hopefully like how Jack’s Fried Chicken was trialed before going nationwide, the same happens with this menu item!
ive had cheese steaks in philly, and i am always trying to get that here. the best ive found is http://www.pjssteaks.com/ - they are in the CBD, the valley and west end
I must try them when I’m next in Brisbane! Also keen to find a place which does Reuben sandwiches too.
We had these at the Macca’s in SA from May to July. They were alright.
They would be a whole lot better with some accompanying sauces.
The second store will be in Melbourne’s North in the suburb of Campbellfield. Not too far away from the yet to open first store in Preston.
A question for the Sydney members, is El-Jannah any good?
To promote Amazon’s new series I Know What You Did Last Summer, the ‘Screaming Bloody Burger’ will be available exclusively at Milky Lane restaurants and via Deliveroo from tomorrow (October 15) for a limited time. The burger is only available in NSW, ACT and QLD.
A “Bloody Burger” does not sound very appetising.
Reminds me of the burger where the bun was dyed black.
The NSW Government has confirmed that it will expand the Dine and Discover program, offering another two vouchers valid until June next year (the vouchers will be available through the Service NSW app). It also launched a program offering 5000 hospitality businesses $5000 to expand al fresco areas under temporary powers, to let them use areas including bowling greens and car parks that were privately owned. The changes take place from November.
I haven’t even spent the first lot and I think a lot of people are in a similar situation. Having a extra two vouchers seems excessive. Plus it is going to cost 250 million. Not to mention that at a lot of locations you can’t use the vouchers online at a lot of places making it hard to book
Australian artists Baker Boy, Kirsten Salty, D’Arcy Spiller and Big Twisty have fronted a new remix of Snoop Dogg’s Did Somebody Say Menulog jingle. The new commercial debuts today.
