With hairdressers and barbers being closed for the past three months in NSW, I am seeing more mullets now than I have since 1987.
I was thinking of having a HJ’s fried chicken burger today, but I think I’ll mullet over.

Given that NSW is slowly starting to exit lockdown / restrictions, I thought it was timely to post a pic of my collection of unused serviettes from all of my takeaway hamburgers over the last 18 months of various lockdowns.

Taco Bell opens in Perth at Midland today. 2nd store at Ellenbrook set to follow next year.
KFC returns to Cannington on the western side of Albany Highway after closing due to the Westfield Carousel expansion in 2017. Hungry Jack’s also closed at the time and has since opened a new store across the road.

How long has Taco Bell been in Australia for?
Never really noticed it before.
Four years. It was relaunched in Australia in 2017, following two failed attempts in the 1980s and 1990s.

Tendercrisp has been axed (amongst a significant number of menu items, including onion rings) so guessing these new chicken burgers are also serving as a replacement for that.
Not surprised to see Tendercrisp go considering BK in the US also seem to have phased it out.

If so that sucks. Onion rings were one of the few good unique things for HJ over McDonald’s.
That also I suppose kills a bunch of other nice menu items that used them, like the Rodeo Cheeseburger.

i love the onion rings but the battered ones just sucked. I now get the crumbed ones from coles
Still on the website but removed from the app and an HJs employee on another forum stated that they’ve been removed from their point-of-sale completely. The list they shared was
Onion Rings
Chicken Wraps
Tendercrisp burgers
Big/Mega Jack
Deluxe thick shakes
Smoke house whoppers
Feast bundles
Bacon double cheeseburger (but not Bacon Deluxe)
Hash brown cheeseburger

They were no good when they changed them from the OG onion rings. Same with the OG breaded nuggets. And the Grilled chicken not having an oatbran bun anymore.
Yup ex employee lol still the best of the fast food options though.

Don’t really care about some of the other menu items, but it sucks that Hungry Jacks have removed (or at least, seem to be phasing out) Onion Rings…even if I probably haven’t eaten anything from that chain in about ten years anyway! 
As per Moe, they are/were one of the few good unique things HJs has going for it over Maccas.

I always thought Big/Mega Jack would be on sale for a limited time only. They may or may not be back depending on whether a copyright infringement claim from McDonald’s goes ahead.
I went to place an order tonight via the app and noticed onion rings not listed. So I ordered through drive thru instead, and was able to order them. They were also on the menu board. I asked the lass at the payment window why they were not listed on the app and she said that they had sold out a couple of days ago and are now back in stock but the app hadn’t been updated.

Were they the ones shaped a bit like mini tenders? Do they still have the same bbq plum sauce?

True, but how accurate was her response? It had been so long since I ordered onion rings that I was taken aback that they were these massive things, not the little crumbed rings I remember.

Yup. That had a slight peppery taste to them. So good. I don’t think it’s the same BBQ Plum either
