Me too. In 1993. I still to this day have fond memories and flashbacks.

None of them really fit quite the same style - basically all being more or less a jumbo chicken nugget in a bun. I’ve had a smaller local burger place’s attempt at the more recent US style based on cloning the Popeyes burger and quite liked it - but I suppose maybe there’s something weirder about buying a burger with chicken in it in the US that made them do extra well?

Back in the day we (as staff) used to make ‘nugget burgers’ with the old style breaded nuggets. They were THE BEST! :raised_hands:

My job was mostly maintenance and getting the place ready before opening.

The year I was born. Gee! That makes me feel old.

Fried chicken burgers have been on trial in ACT/Queanbeyan/Goulburn for months. The tv ad is a sight to behold - literally a bloke with a mullet groaning as he eats it.

The patty is much thicker

Makes YOU feel old? I’m bloody ancient haha

Many many a ‘clean up’ until midnight on a school night. Good times.

I worked on the weekend (both days). But towards the end I was cut down to working only one day.

Yes, though the initial ads were still using the current HJ’s branding font:

The newest ad contains the ‘Flame’ typeface and new branding illustrations.

I think I found the video of it, but it’s behind a website that requires an business account to view it.

I was just at my local HJ’s and there was a sign saying it was available from tomorrow in SA.

Something new for HJ’s fried chicken burger range: two burgers come with pickles. Looking forward to trying them when they are available in Victoria.

Betty’s Burgers have started teaser ads on socials for their arrival into Perth at Forrest Chase.

And it’s LIVE on the HJ’s website now too:
JFC-Web-Tile

Still using a mix of the current and upcoming ‘Flame’ typefaces.

Yep, saw a new TV ad during The Masked Singer last night.

They’ve updated the ad. No more mullet dude  Same concept and music tho

I quite liked the Cheesy Bacon JFC burger. The thicker cut of chicken tasted good.

Only thing HJ’s are missing is Billy Connolly :joy:

I saw a West Coast Eagles themed ad so far, not sure if they are airing other variants at the moment.
