Orders placed in-restaurant are the lowest of the low priority behind drive-thru and the apps (both delivery & in-app dine in or takeaway orders) Just the reality of things in this day and age.
I thought KFC stood for Kan’t Fucking Cook.
KFC. Slow to serve, slow to digest…but with a quick exit.
If only @ElCapitanCranky was still around on these boards, he knew all about KFC quick exits.
If I ever have to wait in line at a KFC, I just get the app out and start ordering. I usually finish my order before the person in front of me gets served.
Taco Bell’s first WA restaurant will open at Midland in Perth on September 29 at 10am.
Taco Bell Australia marketing manager Tamika Nelsen said the chain, which originated in California in 1962, was known worldwide for “epic” restaurant openings, and said the first person in line in Midland would get to officially cut the ribbon.
Not very often that you see the older Red Rooster logo in WA locations nowadays…
The older layout with wooden features were also present:
Which store is that?
Should never have got rid of that logo, it was iconic.
Now all we need is Carl’s Jr. Surprised they have not opened here.
I was going to say the same thing.
It was the Gosnells location. The front signage was a mix between the older logo but on a flat surface:
Agreed, the old logo was well designed and distinct. I liked how they experimented with a new heart-inspired design a few years back, but it seems they’ve done away with the rooster after introducing the ‘ЯR’ logo. It seems like older stores are now been updated with this design quicker than the previous.
And while this is random, I kinda miss how Red Rooster was WA-influenced given the first location was in Kalamunda. Their Head Office used to be in Balcatta, but they are now based in the Eastern States.
Whichever company did the old signage did a terrible job, every single one is incredibly faded. Looks awful.
That varied over the years - they were owned by Coles Myer for a time in the 90s - 2000s! And besides, Chicken Treat is clearly the brand they want to push from a WA influence perspective.
The original and the best.
Red Rooster’s first store was in Kelmscott in 1972.
Chicken Treat was in Kalamunda for years before it became Red Rooster.
Early to mid 2000’s, a lot of Chicken Treat stores converted to RR in WA. Chicken Treat also withdrew from South Australia before growing again when they merged with Chooks in the late 2000’s.
That takes me back. Did they have the suburb name above the counter too?
A long time coming considering HJs has the reputation of run down, crappy restaurant interiors even for new store builds until recently.
Woo! Wouldn’t mind to see the new-style bun logo to be HJ-ified. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too much longer for the new branding seen on the walls!
I also just came across this banner image from a Hungry Jack’s NSW/ACT Managers private group for ‘Jack’s Fried Chicken’:
Perhaps its debut will coincide with the new branding?
I wonder if that will just directly be the Ch’King from Burger King US - or just be another take on the Tendercrisp. It’s surprising there hasn’t been a rush to try and replicate that US rush of similar products.
Australian fast food chains already serve a huge number of “chicken sandwiches” as the americans call them, so it makes sense we haven’t seen the same push for the product here.
Fun fact - Hungry Jack’s was my first job back in 2005.
