Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

I think it’s more that Red Rooster seem to just be getting squeezed out - KFC have them beat for fast food chicken, so they want to see if they can find the space in the market on being the higher end chicken places?

Would be good imo if they shifted into marketing it as take home stuff. A lot of it seems to come into stores frozen so it could work. Sell frozen Rooster Rolls, their chicken tenders and ideally their chip salt…

Which is a shame, as I quite like Red Rooster.

Taco Bell Australia has shared a video of the store showing a full view on what it looks like on the outside.

They also announced that the store will open on Tuesday, 10th November at 10am and will be Victoria’s third store. There is a store in South Yarra and Hawthorn.

Report of the closing of the last Sizzler restaurants.

Annerley, the first to open in Australia was the first to convert to Taco Bell.

I drive past a Perth Sizzler a few times a week and every evening I’ve driven past in the past week the carpark is overflowing and the queue turns in on itself, it’s insane. And these have all been Mon-Thurs weekday evenings!

Definitely a very busy farewell for the chain here in WA.

Thanks.
I’d like to try that

McDonald’s will also begin testing a new plant-based burger called McPlant in the US next year.

That’s one burger I won’t be trying.

They may as well call it a McFake.

I loved their cheesy toast.

I always had 3 or 4 slices of it whenever I went there.

An old style cafe at the South.Point Tuggeranong shopping centre in Canberra serves an old style dish - lamb’s fry.

That’s so old school that I imagine you can’t pay by card (cash only), and the prices should even be in pounds and shillings.

Now that’s a nicely written sign. So many cafe signs are appalling - poorly written and smudged. One of my local cafes in Surry Hills has an appalling sign out the front - if I can get a photo I will.

Anyone else have a stunning or awful menu chalkboard sign?

The demographics that have a sit-down meal in an independent shopping centre cafe probably wouldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary about Lambs Fry on the menu.

Not restaurant but there’s a exercise-place that used to be on my way to work that used to put fairly reasonable memes on their chalkboard sign. That seemed a good use of it instead of just promos.

The new Maccas schnitzel burger is fantastic. Best new burger they’ve had in years.
