Fast Food/Takeaways and Restaurants

American restaurant chain The Boiling Crab, which specialises in cajun seafood boil and fried food, has chosen Glen Waverley in Melbourne’s east as its first Australian store (and second outside the US). It will be located on the ground floor of Galleria apartments on O’Sullivan Road, across the road from The Glen shopping centre. I spotted the shopfront boards at lunchtime today promoting the restaurant would open soon.
Here is an article about The Boiling Crab’s first overseas branch, in Shanghai, China.

Can you hear the crabs screaming while they’re being boiled?

I had one for lunch today.

I agree, it is very nice.

Only real criticism is that it falls apart a bit too easily.

Ambush marketing?

Honestly it’s a bit cringe.

Especially considering KFCs marketing at the moment is all about embracing that it’s not the healthiest thing you could eat.

I haven’t been to Grill’d for a couple of years now. The quality went down when they expanded too fast, and I was disappointed with the food that I was served the last few times I went there. I doubt that I will bother trying them again.

I haven’t noticed much change here.

But I’ve mostly been going to local Newcastle burger outlet Rascals in the last few months for my burger fix.

One will soon open in Laverton too.

One planned for Bathurst in Regional NSW as well.

McRib and El Maco have returned to the McDonald’s menu just in time for Christmas. McRib was last available in Australia in 2018.

i remember having it in 2018

Was gonna say, it’s definitely been available more recently than 2012.

How long ago did HJ bring out the Chicken Big Jack? I don’t think it was available when the Big Jack and Mega Jack were released. I tried it yesterday and it wasn’t too bad.

HJ must have quietly launched Chicken Big Jack quite recently, given McDonald’s court action on Big Jack infringing on the Big Mac trademark.

They’ve been advertising the last week or two.

Interesting that they’re featuring McRib almost in the exact same window of time as McDonald’s in the US is featuring it (which I only know courtesy of ReviewBrah).
