Really? Why remove Home and Away? It’s ratings have been so strong. Farmer normally does alright. Strange move.
Last year that equivalent Monday’s 7 News got the highest weekday rating of any bulletin that year over 1.6 million thanks to The Big Freeze/AFL lead in and the King’s Birthday holiday

And this year the big freeze is more significant with the death of Neale. So I can see the game being up on last year (especially if it’s a close game) and news might also do very well
Seven are also encoring the launch on Friday in prime time on the main channel (after BH&G in non-AFL markets), which usually doesn’t rate well and drags down share.
So they’re definitely desperate for Farmer to do well this season and want to reach as many eyes as possible.
Why do you say “desperate”? How is it any different to any other season or any other show?
I think it’s quite abnormal to premiere two episodes in primetime then repeat them - also in primetime, in succession, another night - in the same week.
Surely they could find a movie. Or two. Something better than repeating two episodes earlier in the week.

They don’t have afternoon repeats and so instead of the late night (after 10pm) repeats they are doing 8pm. I don’t think it’s a desperate move
Nothing is a desperate move if it’s 7. Would definitely be if 10 did it!
Seven moved reality show daytime replays off the main channel to 7flix. But virtually noone watches that channel during the day.
Movies probably didn’t do that well for Seven on Friday nights, so I don’t mind Farmer repeats then.
Seven have been doing a Friday night encore in the first week of some reality shows for a few years now. Same thing happened last year for Farmer, so not really a surprise.

Abbey Holmes had a quick chat with Farmer Zac on the boundary at half time of Collingwood v Melbourne this afternoon. Zac is a Cats fan and plays local footy.

They had multiple interviews Thursday night with another farmer.
Last night the post game showed a promo and Friday night post game also had a little exclusive look too.
It’s 7’s biggest weekend of AFL in the home and away season with 5 FTA games & hence the extra promo and advertising of Farmer
Enjoying the premiere so far. Farmer Dylan is getting a lot of air time. He’s going to be popular I think.
The beginning of a love story
Three farmers invite their ladies back to the farm
Tonight marked the start of a fresh season of love on Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus, with host Natalie Gruzlewski playing cupid to five new farmers, )plucked from paddocks around the country.
With first date nerves in overdrive, Farmer Alex (28, Kin Kin, Queensland), Farmer Dylan (24, Cherry Gardens, Victoria), Farmer Jarrad (41, Taylorville, South Australia), Farmer Jason (37, Coolabunia, Queensland) and Farmer Zac (24, Forest Range, South Australia) gathered in picturesque Hunter Valley to meet the person who could be “the one”.
From thousands of eligible single ladies who saw their profiles online, Farmers Alex, Dylan and Jason met their favourites in a round of speed dating.
Farmer Dylan hit it off instantly with 23-year-old chocolate shop assistant Ally, with her playful blindfold trick breaking the ice on their first speed date. “She’s gorgeous. She’s got real pretty eyes. I’m blushing,” Dylan said.
For Farmer Alex, it was love at first sight when he met 24-year-old event manager Suzannah. “From the moment that I saw Suzannah, I knew that she’s my type straight away.”
Farmer Jason was equally smitten after meeting 28-year-old vet Beth. “Very bubbly, fun person. She’s what I’m looking for. We got on really well,” he said.
After much awkward laughter and stolen glances, the three farmers invited five ladies back to their farms.

All five farmers head back to their farms with one lucky partner they’ve chosen to spend the first 24-hour date with. Turning on the country charm, they do their best to impress their dates with intimate dinners and romantic gestures.

Tonight, on Farmer Wants A Wife on Seven and 7plus, the search for love continued as two more farmers began their journey to find true love.
Farmers Jarrad and Zac took their first steps towards meeting their future wives with a series of speed dates, each meeting eight hopeful ladies before choosing five to return to the farms.
Romance starts to blossom as the five farmers each select one special lady to head back to the farm early for an unforgettable 24-hour date.
Farmer Dylan wasted no time putting his connection with 23-year-old chocolate shop assistant, Ally, to the test, taking her horse riding to see if she could embrace his cowboy lifestyle. As if that wasn’t enough, he then introduced her to his grandparents.
“My nan and grandpa mean the world to me. If they hit it off, that’ll tick just another box and she’s been good at ticking boxes today,” Dylan said.
Old-fashioned chivalry was on the menu for Farmer Zac’s date with 25-year-old environmental scientist Grace, as he hoped his homemade apple crumble would sweeten the evening. Nervous, he said: “A bit of mixed emotions going into this. It’s exciting. It’s scary. Definitely the first time I’ve cooked an apple crumble for a girl.”
The date soon turned more serious, with Grace asking the big question – was this romance or just friendship? Reassured by Zac’s answer, she made the first move, sealing the moment with a kiss.
Farmer Jason’s romantic outdoor setup for his date with 28-year-old vet Beth hit a snag, forcing a last-minute move indoors. Opening up, Jason shared his biggest concern when dating single mums: “I think the major issue I’ve had is dating single mums. They can’t move for custody reasons, which is quite understandable. Being a mum, I hope Beth can move to the farm someday.”
Reassuring him, Beth said, “I just want to let you know that there’s nothing really holding me back from coming out here.”
Farmer Jarrad leaned into his romantic side, setting the scene with a magical candlelit bonfire date for 31-year-old fertility nurse Carly. “I’m so glad that I picked Carly, she is a quieter, sort of more reserved type of person. I’ve got a great connection with her. She’s very special.”
After reflecting on the day, Alex decided to go all in on his date with 30-year-old Eddy, surprising her with a gold pendant featuring a mother of pearl – a symbol of divine femininity. Eddy was touched by the gesture and made to feel truly special.
