Farmer Wants A Wife’s David McMahon and his wife Emily McWaters have shared the sweetest news yet, they’re expecting their first child.

The Queensland apple farmer and the Brisbane schoolteacher, who met on the 2023 season of Channel 7’s hit dating series, announced the pregnancy on Instagram this week with an adorable post featuring their two dogs and a tiny white baby onesie.

Another Q2 show will be the latest season of Farmer Wants a Wife.

“It’s been a really strong show for us since we returned it. Last year it had a bit of a dip, but it’s one of the biggest streaming shows because it’s in that dating space…but we did have some issues,” he admits after one contestant needed to be removed from the edit.

“All five by the end of the show, are still together. So that’s what we’re going to lean into. Everyone knows around the world, this is the most successful dating show that actually produces long term relationships.

“Sylvia, our producer, she said she’s happiest with this, the best one they’ve seen so far. I’ve always kept the ball saying that because I haven’t seen it yet, but they’re still together.

“I think it’ll be our biggest rating show for this year.”
