News:
Farmer Wants A Wife’s David McMahon and his wife Emily McWaters have shared the sweetest news yet, they’re expecting their first child.
The Queensland apple farmer and the Brisbane schoolteacher, who met on the 2023 season of Channel 7’s hit dating series, announced the pregnancy on Instagram this week with an adorable post featuring their two dogs and a tiny white baby onesie.
Another Q2 show will be the latest season of Farmer Wants a Wife.
“It’s been a really strong show for us since we returned it. Last year it had a bit of a dip, but it’s one of the biggest streaming shows because it’s in that dating space…but we did have some issues,” he admits after one contestant needed to be removed from the edit.
“All five by the end of the show, are still together. So that’s what we’re going to lean into. Everyone knows around the world, this is the most successful dating show that actually produces long term relationships.
“Sylvia, our producer, she said she’s happiest with this, the best one they’ve seen so far. I’ve always kept the ball saying that because I haven’t seen it yet, but they’re still together.
“I think it’ll be our biggest rating show for this year.”
A sneak peek of the new season was shown during Australian Idol grand final tonight.
I’m sure some farmers want a husband.
Was about to make the same comment. I know a few male farmers who would like a husband. Time to move the show into the late 2020s.

A sweet shot at love
Will love blossom for Farmer Zac?
Meet Farmer Zac, the 24-year-old apple farmer from Forest Range, South Australia, ready to put his heart on the line when Farmer Wants A Wife returns to Seven and 7plus soon.
Zac is used to the steady rhythm of farm life, but nothing could prepare him for the nerves of searching for love. Anxious about what lies ahead, Zac confesses: “I’m not a shy boy, but sometimes pretty ladies can make me a little bit nervous.”
A third-generation farmer, Zac is a sweetheart – but beneath the easy smile, he’s ready for something real.
“She’s gotta have a great personality. Someone who can laugh at the fun, and values open, honest communication. This is going to ruin me… or I’m going to find the one.”
While Zac is focussed on finding a genuine connection, one of his ladies – Miranda – isn’t playing it sweet and has already set her eyes firmly on the farmer.
“City boys are just pathetic and I’ve had enough,” she declares. “I know what I want – and I want Farmer Zac.”
Confident and calculated, Miranda isn’t afraid to stir the pot in her pursuit of love – and she’s calling her shot already: “I wish for a kiss from Zac tonight. I wish for the next date. And I wish for Jessica to go home. As you know, I do get what I want.”
As connections deepen and tensions rise, one questions looms large: Will Miranda win Farmer Zac’s heart – or will his search for a genuine, grounded love lead him elsewhere?
