Love in the outback

Meet NSW Farmer Dustin

Meet Dustin: the 26-year-old, third-generation NSW farmer looking for love that lasts forever on the brand-new season of Farmer Wants A Wife, coming to Channel 7 and 7plus after Easter.

Despite his warm personality and genuine intentions, the show’s most remote farmer reveals that the dating scene in his hometown of Condobolin is nothing short of “dismal”.

“It’s like trying to find a needle in the haystack,” he describes.

Dustin shares his challenges in finding a lasting connection: “Everything’s going good until they say, ‘Oh, so where are you from?’”

Will Dustin’s love be enough for someone to overcome the geographical barriers?

Will this dreamy farmer find a wife?

Meet Joe, the 33-year-old cattle and sheep farmer from the NSW Snowy Mountains, who is about to begin the quest for real love on a brand-new season of Farmer Wants A Wife coming to Channel 7 and 7plus after Easter.

With a cheeky smile, good looks that send hearts aflutter and a dreamy life, Joe is one of Australia’s most eligible farmers. The only thing he’s missing? A partner to ride off into sunset with.

Joe believes he has ample love to offer but admits: “I’ve always struggled with meeting people who want to live the same way I want to.”

Expressing he’s ready to fall in love, he reflects that love empowers you “to take on the world”.

That makes 2 couples from last year now engaged after David & Emily announced their engagement a few months ago.

Oddly specific, nice one Mail Online.

A bit late isn’t it? This show is usually completed months ago. Like August last year?

Usually voice overs are done way after filming, allowing for scripting once visuals are locked or close to locked.

Farmer launched the same across all channels (bar 7Bravo - as I think that’s operated/played out differently), except for the classification warning.

Main channel had a proper one with consumer advice, m/c just had the small “PG” bug. I guess the “Mild Coarse Language” is not in the first 5min.

edit

Channel change message:

Was in-program too, so technically must be airing a different version (depsite being the same except for the classification warning and this channel change) on the m/c.

First dates

Three farmers invite their favourites back to the farm

Tonight marked the start of a brand-new season of Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus, with host Samantha Armytage playing cupid to five new farmers, plucked from paddocks around the country.

With first date nerves in overdrive, Farmer Bert (30, Wamuran, Queensland), Farmer Joe (33, Bombala, NSW), Farmer Dustin (26, Condobolin, NSW), Farmer Dean (25, Kandanga, Queensland) and Farmer Tom (22, Tabilk, Victoria) gathered in the picturesque Hunter Valley ready to meet a lady who could be ‘the one’.

Picked from thousands of eligible single ladies who saw their profiles online, Farmers Bert, Dustin and Dean met their favourites in a round of speed-dating.

“It’s very important to have somebody that fits in the family. It’s hard to find someone who’s right for the farm. It’s like trying to find a needle in the haystack,” Farmer Dustin said before meeting his prospective ladies.

A visibly nervous Farmer Bert was lost for words when he met 32-year-old customer service professional Karli: “Karli’s definitely distracting. Just finding the right questions and stuff is a little intimidating. I think there’s a bit of a spark in there.”

Bella, a 24-year-old marketing professional, took Farmer Dean’s breath away when she arrived in her gold shoes, designer handbag and city charm: “Wow! She’s bloody beautiful. Such a strong personality, very outgoing. She’s pretty flash, that’s for sure, but we got along so well. Unbelievable.”

After plenty of awkward laughter and stolen glances, the three farmers each invited five ladies back to their beloved farms.

Farmer Bert: Caity, Karli, Caitlin, Lauren, April

Farmer Dean: Bella, Teegan, Tiffany, Kate, Hayley

Farmer Dustin: Sophie, Anna, Chloe, Izzy, Kara

Tomorrow night on Farmer Wants A Wife: Farmers Joe and Tom meet their favourites and choose their top five. All five farmers head back to their farms with one lucky lady they’ve chosen to spend the first 24-hour date with. Turning on the country charm, they do their best to impress their dates with intimate dinners and romantic gestures.

Sowing the seeds of love

Romance heats up with first dates and first kisses

In tonight’s Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus, Farmers Joe and Tom opened their hearts to love and invited their top five to the farm.

After each farmer invited one special lady to join them for the first 24-hour date, romance blossomed in the country as the farmers did their best to woo their chosen ones before the rest of the ladies arrived.

While Claire, Farmer Joe’s 24-hour date, was excited to see the farmer’s way of living; cattle farmer Tom’s 24-hour date Krissy had a shock admission: “I’ve never seen cows so closely. It’s scary, I’m not going to lie.”

Farmer Bert and Caity’s romantic date on the jetty ended up in an awkward first kiss, but when the rest of the ladies inquired if they had kissed the next morning, they both deflected the topic.

The farmers invited the following ladies on their farms:

Farmer Bert: Caity*, Karli, Caitlin, Lauren, April

Farmer Dean: Bella*, Teegan, Tiffany, Kate, Hayley

Farmer Dustin: Sophie*, Anna, Chloe, Izzy, Kara

Farmer Joe: Claire*, Keely, Sarah, Calya, Chelsea

Farmer Tom: Krissy*, Taylah, Abby, Sarah A , Sarah C

*24-hour date winner

Tomorrow night on Farmer Wants A Wife: A surprise message from Sam shocks everyone: “Farmers, tomorrow you much choose two ladies to join you on a double date. Think carefully about who you’d like to invite because tomorrow night, you must send one lady home.”

In the hope of igniting a spark, the farmers plan something special for their ladies before making the heartbreaking decision to end someone’s dream.

A lot weighs on the farmers’ minds as they prepare for the first farewell: “Definitely feeling a lot of pressure about the first farewell, mainly because I’m still tossing it up. It’s coming right down to the wire,” says Farmer Joe.

Why is channel 7 so vanilla? Why not some diversity, surely there must be some farmers who want a husband! :slightly_smiling_face: Maybe I’d watch the show then!

Snitch alert

Five ladies leave in first farm farewell

Love bubbles burst on tonight’s Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus.

At the end of the first day on the farm, the farmers received a text from host Sam Armytage instructing them to choose two ladies for a double date the next morning, before making the tough decision to send one of them home.

“The moment that Joe said my name, my heart dropped a little bit. I could be going home. It’s a lot, so I’m nervous,” Chelsea said after Farmer Joe chose her along with Keely.

With a possible elimination looming, the ladies on Bert’s farm found it difficult to spend time with him, as Karli was smitten. Disgruntled, April said: “Karli’s just out there and she’s just constantly in his space. She’s a crazy stage five clinger.”

Later at night, when April dobbed Karli into Bert, it backfired and he sent her packing. “I hate drama. I have an incredibly busy life and drama is just something I really don’t tolerate,” he said.

After spending quality time with their chosen two, the farmers farewelled the partner they couldn’t see a future with:

Farmer Bert: April
Farmer Dean: Kate
Farmer Dustin: Kara
Farmer Joe: Chelsea
Farmer Tom: Abby

Tomorrow night on Farmer Wants A Wife: The farmers and ladies put their game faces on for their first big catch-up at the annual Morrissette Country Show.

While the ladies look for every opportunity to make a special connection, a damaging text could put love on hold for one farm. “I really hope for his sake it’s not true,” Joe says after the farmer who received the message reads it outs aloud.

And a shock return causes a stir when Sam announces: “This is something that has never ever happened before. One of the ladies who wasn’t invited back to the farm has asked for a second chance at finding love. She feels there might be some chemistry between her and another farmer.”

This ain’t my first rodeo

A shock return and bombshell text rock the farms

The farmers and ladies put their game faces on for the first get-together at the annual Morrissette Country Show in tonight’s Farmer Wants A Wife on Channel 7 and 7plus.

As the ladies and the farmers were getting reacquainted in the showgrounds, Farmer Dean received a bombshell anonymous text: “Teegan, who you are currently filming with, has a boyfriend. She might be leading you on.”

After the news moved faster than a bucking bull, a perturbed Teegan said: “A whole other farm has been talking about it. It just makes me worry that he’s going to question everything. My biggest fear is Dean will always doubt myself and not trust me.”

Seeing Teegan upset, Dean went to comfort her, which led Hayley to quit: “It’s so obvious that him and Teegan’s connection is like, very strong already. Is it worth waiting for a date?”

After host Samantha Armytage announced the next solo dates up for grabs, she revealed an unusual request from Olivia, who wasn’t invited back to Bert’s farm.

“I originally went on a speed date with Farmer Bert. Really wasn’t meant to be. So I’m back to shoot my shot,” Olivia said, asking for a second chance at finding love with another farmer: Joe.

When it was time to make a decision, Joe was considerate of his original ladies on the farm: “I feel like I’d be doing all the other girls on my farm a discredit to bring you back and I’m sorry about that.”

Tomorrow night on Farmer Wants A Wife: The farmers’ quest for love soared to new heights thanks to some precious one-on-one time with their ladies.

“It’s little bit past the crush now,” Sarah says after a solo date with Farmer Joe.

While some connections grow, gut-wrenching decisions are made at the farm farewells as Farmer Dean says: “I’m pretty torn up. It’s probably not the right time for me to make decision. The best choice for me is just to get away from the farm.’

Hearts on the line

Romantic dates and tough decisions

Tonight on Farmer Wants A Wife, the farmers and their chosen ladies explored deeper connections over romantic solo dates on Channel 7 and 7plus.

In the Snowy Mountains, Farmer Joe hoped to break down Sarah’s walls a little bit: “I feel like Sarah has definitely held back a bit. I don’t know if she is into me: if she really likes me or not.”

While Farmer Bert planned a surprise date for Caitlin in her hometown of Queensland’s Bribie Island, including a meet-up with Caitlin’s mum at her bait and tackle shop; Farmer Tom introduced Sarah C to his world by exploring the places in his backyard that are close to his heart.

For his date with Chloe, Farmer Dustin planned a traditional romantic gesture with a uniquely Australian twist: “It’s not Paris, but you know how in Paris they, like, do the lock thing? Yeah, well, this is the Condo version.”

The anonymous message Farmer Dean received at the country show regarding Teegan’s alleged boyfriend weighed on his mind during their date. But all seemed well after he cleared the air with Teegan at an opportune moment.

After a day of spectacular dates, the farmers grappled with heart-wrenching decisions during farm farewell. Feeling the pressure, Farmer Joe said: “I’m definitely taking these farewells a lot harder than I anticipated.”

With three amazing ladies in waiting, Farmer Dean was unable to make the decision, choosing to take a night away from the farm: “The best choice for me was just to get away from the farm for the night and just think on my own and just try and get my head on the right track again.”

Ladies farewelled tonight:

Bert’s farm: Caity
Tom’s farm: Taylah

Tomorrow night on Farmer Wants A Wife: Dean’s absence leaves his ladies in limbo. “There’s a chance that we all could be staying. It all just could be too much and we all could be going home,” Tiffany says.

Adding to the pressure, host Sam Armytage throws another curveball for the farmers: “Your mother has chosen two incredible women. They are waiting in town for you right now.” Each farmer will have a chance to invite one of the ladies back to the farm.

In a shocking twist, five women and one farmer leave the show. Who will that be?
